Platinum is no longer working on Gran Blue in case you didn't know. Cygames recently took over full development of the title. 

Ahh damn why? Was it a license issue?! Like something expired or anything? That sucks. Well hopefully that Babylon game will still come out on PS4/Steam.

I think this has the potential to be become a big hit. I think Nintendo feels this too, which is why they saved it's announcement to the end alongside Link's Awakening Remake.

Definitely a flagship quality 3rd party game for Nintendo Switch.

All platinum said was  the reason was simply because they had completed their contract.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm more surprised by the remake of Link's Awakening, or this.
The combat looks really stylish and fluid, as expected from the Nier: Automata team. And I like the art direction and setting. Now I'm really hoping it's an action-rpg so that we get to explore the world and get to know its inhabitants.
I don't have a big problem with the way the main characters look, but I would say it feels like their appearance doesn't do the rest of the game justice, from what I saw.

Agreed on the action-RPG comment. Part of what is selling me on the game were those urban free-roam sections we caught a glimpse of. I hope this isn't "run through the city to hit the next encounter" a la Transformers Devastation. I hope you can actually take your time, explore, shop, and take on quests from NPCs.

I legit thought this might be Xenoblade Chronicles 3 when I first saw it and heard the music but I'm glad I was wrong. This looks absolutely stunning and I can't wait to play it. Summer is going to freaking destroy my wallet.

As far as I'm concerned they might as well have announced an August release date for Bayonetta 3. This game looks like it will be as good or better.

Out of all the games in the Direct, this is the one I am most excited for. Which is strange because I don't really care about Platinum's games. So the fact that this game intrigues even me shows that this game will be interesting. I won't be surprised if this game sells a good amount.
