8/10 for me. Decent if not totally mind blowing line up. Links Awakening’ll probably be my most anticipated game (from this direct anyway) despite being a remake (I badly need me some retro style Zelda and only played about a 3rd of the original). The platinum game will be one I’ll watch for (rarely met a platinum game I didn’t like). I’ll get Mario maker 2 but probably to check out levels rather than design my own. Yoshi’s a given for me but not exactly a surprise...demo left me wanting more.Bloodstained I cant wait for (again not really a surprise or exclusive but nice to see it mentioned). Daemon x machina looks potentially interesting (had a bit of a go of the demo...not enough to Form an opinion. Played it late at night)...not bummed about the absence of Luigi’s Mansion or animal crossing. We know they’re coming near the end of the year so no reason to elaborate for now. Dragon quest xi looks pretty good but not sure it’s my bag....and Tetris 99 woohoo.

6/10. Meh

8/10

- Mario Maker 2 looks awesome.
- Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest 11 are instabuys from me but they were before the direct.
- I don't like the artstyle of Link's Awakening remake at first (it would be a 9 otherwise...).
- Platinum new game trailer was amazing but I need to know more.
- Rune Factory 4 remaster is ugly but the existence of Rune Factory 5 is great news.
- Damn, I don't want to buy Captain Toad again...
- Yoshi looks like Yoshi.
- And some other games I might pick up like Bloodstained, Oninaki...

Very solid.

Man, this is gonna be tough owning both a Switch AND Xb One and being pretty tight on funds heh.. Hell even with just the Switch alone there's more than enough titles for me to handle after seeing this direct.

As of now I want to pick up:

Yoshi
Super Mario Maker 2
Zelda: Link's Awakening
DQ 11 (eventually)
Tetris 99
Bloodstained
FFVII (played a small portion of it but it was years ago and I'd like to experience more)
Animal Crossing (not shown but still want it)

Maybe:
AC3
Astral Chain
Daemon X Machina
FFIX
Oninaki

Technically it doesn't mean that we can't get further announcement for other titles in the period of April-May, but I'll admit that having no presence of Nintendo in that period might hurt them a bit ... until the EXPLOSION of summer that is !!

Anywoo, Box-Boy is an IP made by HAL so it was quite evident Nintendo would be the publisher, it's no Indie but a "small" release yeah.

Edit : Captain Toad Special Episode is in March ... there's that, I guess. (It's 6 bucks for the DLC)

March is OK, April is very strong in any case, but May looking a bit empty for now (but that could be easily changed):

-March: Yoshi's Crafted World, Final Fantasy VII, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy!, Unravel two, Captain Toad update
-April: Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, Final Fantasy XII, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Darksiders Warmastered Edition, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 3.0 Update, Box Boy + Box Girl, Starlink update
-May: Team Sonic Racing, Assassin's Creed III Remastered, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland

April is only strong if you have only ever gamed on Nintendo consoles.

I voted 9 links awakening remake is now my most wanted game.
Looking forward to mario maker 2 due to the 3d world things added.
Astral chain looks great
I loved bloodstains video
Looks like my holding out on dragonquest 11 until the switch version will be worth it
Fire emblem has a release date and while they didn't show any battle gameplay and the weeb stuff seems weird to me I'm still looking forward to it

Solid 9 I'm interested in each of the 5 showcased games and enjoyed many of the smaller announcements, Astral Chain is now my most anticipated game of 2019 and Mario Maker 2 seems to be adding more content than I expected from a sequel. Only gripe is lack of Luigi's Mansion (I 100% didn't expect to see it, but it could've been a cherry on top), the Bayonetta 3 tease, lack of Metroid Prime Trilogy (guess they pushed it back :C ) and the Zelda artstyle which I'm not a super fan of...

Also yayyyy 16 bit Dragon Quest on Switch !

Disagree, April is generally look strong, not only if you ever gamed on Nintendo consoles.

I'm really surprised Nintendo hasn't had more for January-March. They don't need to have dead periods like that. Disappointed that Metroid Prime Trilogy wasn't shown with release. Excited for Mario Maker and Link's Awakening but Mario Maker 2 really should have released last year.

Because of their Smash update teaser I'm pretty sure we are going to see another Smash Direct in the next few weeks.

I agree it would have been nice to do so. I think Nintendo expected New Super Mario Brothers Deluxe to be sort of like a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Not to the same extent of course, and I'm sure they're still happy with it, but. NSMBUDX and Yoshi is a pretty poor lineup for January - May. It's especially weird because Yoshi and Mario Maker 2 kind of make NSMBUDX a little less relevant.

I bet they were really thinking that FE would be out by May, honestly, because when you move it to that spot the first half of the year is actually pretty good.
