This is basically like Nintendo whipped their dick out and flaunted it to everybody

That's an insult in most cultures.

I'm focusing on the games that interest me, so personally it wasn't enthralling. Unravel, Box Boy and that Disney game don't interest me. Was hoping for Pokemon, which we know is coming, but as someone pointed out that was always going to be unlikely here. I'm not into Mario Maker or Fire Emblem so the 2 big announcements weren't going to capture my attention.
My main issue is the 3 games that did catch my eye (Assassins Creed 3, Grid and Links Awakening) are all either ports or remasters. Currently this is true of the other 2 games I'm keeping an eye on (Crash Team Racing and Spyro). This is why I need Pokemon Gen 8 (and before a Gen 4 remake).

What if it was a tasty flavorful dick?

Don't think any Pokemon game recently has been announced in a general Direct. Pokemon usually gets announced before E3, which is odd, but is what they like to do. Probably best to wait till May until we start anticipating for Pokemon reveal

That only intensifies the insult. If some dude opens his trench coat at a family and says "I put peach jam on my pecker..." they're only going to be further disgusted!

ALSO THE FACT THAT THE NINTENDO GUY MADE IT SOUND LIKE HE WAS GIVING A CLOSING SPEECH BEFORE THE PLATINUM REVEAL ALMOST LIKE IT WAS THE LAST ANNOUNCEMENT, WHEN REALLY THERE WAS *ANOTHER* SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER THAT WAS AWESOME!

Bought a 128GB SD card just 3 days ago... and with the games in the Direct, I'd say it will be full by end of Summer.

I give it an 8. The 2019 lineup is looking absolutely stacked from June onward but its lacking a notable April/May game, if Fire Emblem released in one of those months instead of July than I would probably give it a 9.

Well, let's look what non-indies we have in those months, shall we?

April 2: Darksiders: Warmastered Edition

April 5: Super Dragonball Heroes: World Mission

April 16: Final Fantasy X/X-2 remasters

April 23: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen; Mortal Kombat 11

April 30: Final Fantasy XII

May 21: Team Sonic Racing; Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland (western release)

I'd say April is relatively fine without it (unless you don't like FF), and they wouldn't have wanted to miss out on Goldenweek by just a couple weeks or even days, so May would have been out of question, either.

And I agree May is a bit empty right now, but since everybody wants to cash in on Goldenweek that's often the case anyway. Plus, Sword Art Online : Fatal Bullet and Super Neptunia RPG are set to release in spring, so they might fill up one of the gaps in the lineup.

Box Boy + Box Girl is April release too, so April looks fine. IMO Nintendo should have some published game in May, even some Wii/WiiU port (Pikmin 3 or Metroid Prime Trilogy HD) would do good job.

Pretty slick direct, some heavy hitters

Astral Chain (holy shit)
Super Mario Maker 2
Links Awakening
DQ XI S Definitive Edition

Are all day 1 purchases for me, we knew about DQ but it having the orchestrated soundtrack and the 2D view is a massive + for me.
4 Day 1 games in a direct is not something commong. A strong 9/10

I qualified that one as an Indie titles, hence why I didn't add it into the list. But yeah, April has a full set of games, just May is a bit empty - but the time in between Goldenweek and E3 is always comparatively bare imo.
