I hope they have a Direct soon. Will they? Who the hell knows.

Well, it would be weird if they don't make a Direct this month. Hopefully something good gets announced ""ehem Persona 5 ehem". By the way, will we get the last 3DS titles here, or will they announce them independently?

IIRC Persona5 new project will get some info late March.

I also expect some Wii U ports, GTA V, MAYBE HOPEFULLY Witcher 3, Spyro Trilogy Remakes and hopefully a trailer for Nintendo’s big holiday hitter that isn’t Pokemon, assumimg they have one.

Well Spyro get rated for Switch in Germany, W3, CDP said they will give any info 1st themselves.

W3 is kinda unlikely, but Gwent is another story. It will be a huge feat for both N/CPD to get the game here at last.

They better do something soon, they're floundering around and running around like a chicken without a head.

Seems pretty likely. It's all but guaranteed to be this month, even if a different day.

Here is just one link showing 31 games which may be interesting and seem to cater to a wide audience

https://au.ign.com/articles/2019/01/04/31-big-playstation-games-coming-in-2019

Throw in the sports games and then you have a lot to pick from.

Yes Nintendo have a bit to show, but I do not care for half of it. For me I have never been into animal crossing, yoshi, Pokemon let's go I played on mobile and got bored. Smash is fun but not as fun as MK or KI. This is just my personal taste.

So fro my perspective the Switch is hitting a dry spell compared to my tastes on PS4. The only way to fix that is to A) hire/buy more studios to make the genres the switch lacks, or B) finally find a way to get more mainstream 3rd party support.

That's your own problem though not everyone else's you arguing using your own preference as a basis doesn't paint an accurate picture, before KH3 arrived I hadn't bought a PS4 game in over 3 months it's only now that games are arriving that may interest me and the ones that do are on PC anyway which I'll get on that instead.

How hard is it for you guys to understand. For every Switch game to come out PS4 gets like 5 games maybe more. Yes we don't all like every game but 5 options vs 1 option is the key here. The more options people have the more likely they will buy something or even have the preceived view that there is more to buy on the PS4 than a Switch.

Ofcourse PS5 has more coming out it's been out for 5 years its first two years were even far more sparse compared to NS yet fact is your preference doesn't reflect what the actual market reception is because NS still has a healthy selection of games being released on it. Even this month it had 3 titles released in NSMB, Vesperia and Onimusha and this is following Smash's release last month and PLG the month before.

I see what you are saying and I agree that obviously longer on market it will have more games, but this is the observed issue that has been going on since Wii even.

This may be Australia only though, but like the PS section is always 3-4 sections long of shelving, each week there will be a new game or 3 in the just released section, Nintendo sections never grow beyond one in its life time. So clearly something is screwed here. Maybe its distribution, maybe we don't get all the PAL releases, maybe Nintendo to tight to pay for more shelf space, I don't know. It just always feels like Nintendo has nothing in store to buy that you haven't bought already.

Problem with your Wii comparison is that NS is a hybrid so you have to factor in their portable support as well and that itself has factored into helping the platform's success leading to improved support over prior home platforms, you can observe Wii but then you also have to observe 3DS and all as well.

Sure they can. March is before April and May. Having a Direct close to those months would be ideal.

You said late March, gaving release dates less than 2 months before launch for Nintendo new games is not realistic to expect, they need to start talk about their Spring-Summer games soon in any case.

Why is it not?

Why do they need to talk about things so far in advance?

The earliest they need to begin marketing a game is the moment of launch. If they begin talking about it too early, than they run into the same situations that has plagued them virtually ever since the N64 where the prospect of future first-party games cannibalizes their current release/sales/featured schedule.

They recently released Smash Bros and Let's Go Pokemon, and still Mario Kart bringing in new hardware sales, along with Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey. They just sold around 10 million new consoles in the past few months, increasing their userbase by 40%+. They are hardly hurting for a new killer app or system seller to be marketed at this time. Their best business move is to sell content currently featured, currently releasing, or currently on sale; not have people holding off for games 6-24 months down the road.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
