Star wars fans dont know what they want so their outrage about ea doesnt even make sense
Pretty much this. A large portion of Star Wars fans have been screaming "RUINED FOREVER!" since at least 1983. But Star Wars has survived every other occasion where it was RUINED FOREVER: Greedo firing at Han, bad CGI Jabba in ANH (and bad/overused CGI in general in the Special Editions and prequels), "Jedi Rocks," Hayden Christensen Force ghost, midichlorians, Jar Jar Binks, "I hate sand," the "Anakin becomes Vader" scene, "She has lost the will to live," "NOOOOOOOO!", and so on. I'm sure it'll survive Grouchy Old Luke and a female lead. There's always been parts of the SW fanbase that can never be satisfied and treat each new film as if it were supposed to be a religious experience. Me? I've enjoyed every movie that Lucasfilm has made since the Disney buyout. Far better than the prequels. Of course, I go to the movies to have fun, and I haven't been disappointed yet from the new Star Wars films. Episode 9 is still my most anticipated movie of the year (Endgame is a close second, of course).
Trusting EA to be the sole publisher of SW games was a pretty boneheaded move, though.
