Jason Shreier said at Resetera that the release date of TF2 by chosen by Respawn themselves.

Battlefield 1 was supposed to release earlier, but a delay caused it to land right in front of TF2.

Not to defend EA, but in that instance they might not actually be at fault.

No they 100% are. If BF1 got delayed they then should have launched Titanfall 2 in March or February instead of sending it out to die. The same with BFV. If it launched this March instead with the content released since launch and the battle royale day 1 I feel they'd sell way more copies at full price. Another disastrous choice.

Thats the gamer talking to you but I can definitely tell you that in software development missed releases is a domino effect that can cost a lot of money.  Gamers always feel that none of these types of delays have effects but they do.  Titanfall 2 did not die because of BF1, it died because of no real interest to purchase it.  If gamers had any real interest to purchase TF2 it would have longer legs meaning that it would have continued to sell for a longer period of time definitely after all the positive reviews.

My group of gaming buddies were going to buy anthem but now won't bother because they're addicted to this.

Cool, but you play on PS4, which has no Origin or EA Access. I’m talking about PC players. There will be tons of people using Origin now just because of this game who will then try Anthem with the trial or even the full game if they have premiere or whatever.

The games aren’t remotely similar, I doubt anyone who is canceling Anthem plans because of Apex had any deep desire for Anthem anyway. I for example, and passing on Anthem because of Apex and Crackdown. But I wasn’t high on buying Anthem anyway.

I was planning on getting Anthem but provbably won't for awhile now since i'll be no lifing Apex.

I would ask if there are great reviews for Anthem would you change your mind.  As the LudicrousSpeed stated, the 2 games are really nothing alike.  Anthem looks like a PVE type of game while Apex is a PVP.  Also it appears that Anthem will be more of a RPG lite or something in between that may scratch a different type of itch then a BR game.  I personally am waiting to see how Anthem shakes out before deciding on anything but then again, I never preorder any games and just wait to see if they have the gameplay and content I like before purchase.

Both games are not alike but Anthem and Apex are the type of games you spend hours playing. I just won't have time for Anthem even if it got great reviews. I'd still buy it after a few months though.

Uhh just had a crazy start with 5 kills in the first 2 minutes but died cause I had no ammo.

It's just a bad habit to get into. I spent €10 on fortnite, €2 on Rocket League and at most apex gets €10.

Interesting... So the new trend is to barely spend any money on a game you spend countless hours enjoying.  I guess the times have changed.  I know I was more than happy to pay full price for a game or equivalent if I spent a certain amount of time enjoying a game.

Exactly! There's a huge thread on resetera with people saying they'll stick with Apex and they were going to get it.

I'm so confused.

Well it is just waiting till EA does the same like the epic store so people will join because of Apex legends and we get also a new 'Metro'situation.  And the last part if this free to play game fails at the end they will blame people for being racists or whatever like they did with BFV.

But EA doesn't have any reason to do this, especially given their already known rep.

EA also already got away with BFV regardless, and as far as I can see, publishers like Acti/Blizz, Ubisoft, Bethesda etc, are all losing stock value and have done for months now, EA included, so I don't see how pulling an Epic will benefit them in some way on PC.

I also don't see how this plays into the console porting side as well, that's another confusing part (They already port their games over to consoles and have done for years).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Great gameplay mechanics but the loot and BR style is just tiresome. A waste of an otherwise good gameplay. Would have gladly paid £50 for this if it wasn't loot and BR based. 1hr is enough for me.

Then swap guns. Even if it isn't your preferred weapon. The point is to survive.

I'm playing this like mad... Only have to get 4 more achievements for completion. Reach level 50, 5000 damage, win with 8 (only caustic remains) and legendary helmet and body armour.

It's been quite a while since I've been this wrong. I wrote this game off when first announced.
