PS5 Coming at the End of 2020 According to Analyst: High-Spec Hardware for Under $500

"Following the release of Sony’s financial results a few days ago, analysts are starting to look at the next generation which will come with PS5 or whatever Sony Interactive Entertainment will call its new console.

Yasuda-san expects the PS5 to be released at the end of 2020. He also assumes that the pace of sales of the new console will be similar to that of PS4.

According to Yasuda-san’s prediction, the new hardware will be a high-spec console priced at less than $500. Multiple AAA titles will also accompany its launch and support sales.

Interestingly, just a few days ago we saw a patent registered by Sony that could indicate the presence of backward compatibility features in future hardware. It’ll be interesting to see if it’ll be applied to the PS5.""

That's about the safest prediction I've ever seen.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Hardly call 1080 levels of performance high end, but fair enough.

I'm still wondering if Sony will go with a single SKU or like MS, with 2 SKUs. If I should place a bet, I would say Sony will go "easy" with only one SKU, but very powerful, in the $449 price range. It will have BC and a stronger line-up than PS4 at Launch.

A 1080 with console optimization will be more than enough to do better than the PC version. remember J.Carmack :

I'm sold but if BC is confirm I'll be extra A+++ sold.

What do you think PC will have in 2020, let's go as far as 2022?

Of course the PC will always be in front, that's not new. But what I meant was that having the equivalent of a gtx 1080 on $499 consoles would be really good and enough to have PS5 quality games in 4K.

Curious which AAA titles will be available at launch, I'm hoping for GTA 6 and/or Watch Dogs 3
