Forums - Gaming Discussion - Unpopular Gaming Opinions

What are some opinions you have that most people would disagree with when it comes to gaming?

These are a few of mine:

1. Tomb Raider is better than Uncharted

Sure the story is much better in Uncharted, but I just find the gameplay so much better in the Tomb Raider games. I've tried again and again to play Uncharted, but the gameplay feels too clunky for my liking.

2. Bayonetta is boring

Again, I've tried to play Bayonetta multiple times, but I find it really boring. It's not that I don't like hack 'n' slash games either, I like DMC and the old GoW games.

3. The Last of Us' story isn't that good

It's an okay story. The strongest point for me is the atmosphere, that's what makes TLoU so incredible.

4. The Witcher 3 bores me to no end

Yeah, I said it. I can't play this game for more than a few minutes without getting extremely bored. Maybe it's the fact that I played it right after BotW...

5. The best developer today is... Lucas Pope

You know that guy from Papers, Please that released Return of the Obra Dinn last year? Yeah, he's my favourite developer. That reminds me that...

6. Return of the Obra Dinn is the best game I've ever played

It's just a spectacular game. Innovative, fun, intriguing, mysterious. It looks good, it sounds good. It's the best gaming experience I've ever had.

Those are just a few out of my thousands of unpopular gaming opinions. Share some of your popular gaming opinions too, I'd love to hear them!

Final Fantasy VI and Half-Life 2 are good, but not exceptional, games. I agree with you about Bayonetta and The Last of Us.

Also, videogames themselves are entertaining but often a waste of time, and anyone who claims to have learned or aggregated useful things from them are lying.

Related to point above: you've got issues if you spend thousands of hours a year gaming.

Whoa, that's a bit extreme. I mean, physically, games make your brain work hard and improve motor skills etc. And while people might not take literal life lessons from games' stories, a game can make you think and maybe change the way you act in the long run. For example, there's this game called The Red Strings Club that I played a few months ago and it really made me reflect on a lot of subjects, such as the balance between rationality and emotion that needs to be struck and how emotions and creativity are the things separating us from machines, or the importance of living and doing things while you can. I reflected on that and I think it changed slightly my view of the world. Games, like movies or books or music, have that power to change people.

1. Zelda OoT is not a good game, tried numerous times to get into it, found the controls awkward, gameplay chunky and all around not very interesting.

2. Fallout sucked after 3, I platinumed Fallout 3 and was super hyped for New Vegas, couldn't get into it. same for Fallout 4, I'm not even going to bother with 76

3. I still think PSASBR is more fun than SSB, despite putting more hours into SSB

4. Sonic All Stars Transformed is better than Mario Kart

I will try think of some more.

Cut it out, lay off the personal attacks.

GOW(2018) is the least fun I have had in a video game maybe ever. The combat was boring, as with the story, and the game felt like it dragged on forever. The final boss fight was also a big dissapointment. When the credit rolled, I was left feeling with “That’s it?”

smash ultimate is overhyped

Pokemon:GO for mobile phones was boring. I deleted it after 2 days of playing. Friends could not understand that.
Final Fantasy series has too overloaded plots. I mean, too many things happen there, but they all are kind of similar.

Anime is a crutch for Japanese developers.

Xbox is an acceptable gaming platform
