Forums - Gaming Discussion - Statement: Last of Us and Breath of the Wild embody the difference between PS and Nintendo

Been thinking on things for a while, in part the nature of 'the end' and how Last of Us and Breath of the Wild are both post apoc stories with very different feels to them.

Also titles that end one console and start another, and both being major sellers, and both representing high points, etc etc and etc.

I am not the best at describing feels, but I do feel like the two represent their specific companies (Sony and Nintendo) fairly well. Can you see where I might be coming from, and possibly even put it into the words I cannot.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I actually won't dismiss you as strongly as the others. You mean in terms of design philosophy behind certain studios at both companies in terms of focus on narrative vs focus on pure gameplay, while both give sense of epicness, it is reflected differently.

You lost me on this one bud.

Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-5643-2927-1984

Animal Crossing NH Dream Address: DA-1078-9916-3261

I guess in simple terms we could say Sony prefer highly polished cinematic emotive games whereas nintendo prefer simpler, fun games that are more "arcadey". I dunno. Mayne thats what you are trying to say.

They are both great games, that's all that matters.

No. They must duel to the death, and in that case, Breath of the Wild wins because it's more progressive.
