When will we see the next Nintendo Direct

In January...there's still time! 2 3.92%

February 1st-7th 12 23.53%

February 8th-14th 16 31.37%

February 15th-21st 5 9.80%

February 22nd-28th 0 0%

March 8 15.69%

April 0 0%

May 0 0%

E3 1 1.96%

Hopefully soon so we can ... 7 13.73%

Total:51

It's gotta be soon, what are they going to tell investors to look forward to in a couple of days? But I don't think it'll be a full direct, they can get away with a mini direct early February, maybe some more of that Twitter Direct, and there'll be a full direct to prime for E3. There's a lot of big titles that kind of need to get release dates and fast. Mario Kart Tour could get its own unveiling trailer like Labo did.

Don't know, but I hope it's soon.

I think that's this Thursday, January 31st.

It's gotta happen early Feb or they've screwed all their momentum royally. They've had a terrible 2019 PR wise so far.

I don't think the Metroid delay was as terrible for them PR-wise as you might think.  Youtube, commenters, websites have had overwhelmingly positive reactions to the news and are even using it as a showcase of Nintendo's changed corporate communication strategy and in particular of their commitment to the Metroid franchise.  They had a great NPD showing for December and 2018 and other than not behaving as we think they're supposed to (i.e., not having a Direct in early-mid January) they haven't done anything wrong.  There are resports about suppliers expecting fewer orders, but that's all we know.  Certainly this Direct is super important for their 2019 strategy, but honestly we know more right now for this coming year than we have in quite a while for this time of year.  2019 will be just fine, and Nintendo can bring momentum right back to their favor with a Pikmin announcement or any other IP be it February or March.

As super_etecoon said..I don't think Nintendo is off to a bad start at all in 2019, even from a PR standpoint. The MP4 delay, while disappointing, was not panned by most fans and writers. Nintendo had a clear message that, "Hey, we know fans have been waiting for Metroid Prime 4. Unfortunately, we felt that at its current state, it was not up to our standards, so we decided to start over and have Retro Studios partake in the development of the project. We are sorry and we hope you continue to keep up with updates for our upcoming games."

Plus, you cannot tell me that the PR, however you think they did so far, overshadowed the tremendous success reported from NPD.

I can't see how 2019 has been a positive for Nintendo so far with the things I mentioned. We don't even have release windows, let alone release dates for the games people are actually looking forward to. Like I said earlier the only thing we know for sure that is coming this year thus far is Yoshi in March. Beyond that we really can't say. I think they need to actually start speaking to fans and either get out a press release or a direct and highlight at least some launch windows here to keep momentum going for 2019.  From a Nintendo fans perspective here, I do not see reason to be hyped for Switch at this current time(Jan 2019) when the horizon is just Yoshi atm.  Now talking in ''potential releases'' this year, the lineup sounds bad ass, but thats just potential. We need some concrete windows/dates assurance that these titles will indeed launch this year.

That's why I feel a Feb direct is crucial for them to maintain the moment they got over the holiday season. Gotta speak to your consumers, cant go into radio silence mode and try to coast

February 8th-14th. It needs to happen soon because of the MP4 news. A focus on Pokemon, Bayonetta, Fire Emblem, and a Trilogy. Plus a surprise.
