Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's share price takes a -4% hit after MP4's announcement.

(-4% is an approximative hit from Friday middle of the day to now)

I think this will be completly forgotten if they announce a good Q3, but still, this was the 2nd biggest next shoot after Pokemon.

I don't think that it would sell more than 300000 at launch, but I may be absolutly wrong.

Some "experts" believe that Nintendo has lost a potential strong seller like SSBU..Which is not at all.

My fair is that they decided to restart the game from ground to make it with the new dev kit for the successor of the Switch. I still don't believe into a Switch Pro coming.

They have seen the visual gap between their prototype of MP4 with the last exclusives of the PS4, and they decided that they could not launch for next Christmas a game so ridiculous graphically compared to the next coming games from the competitors.

I really think it would have been better to follow bad news with good news in the form of a Direct. They must have some good news to share, like dates for Fire Emblem or Daemon x Machina

If this is true, investers once again don't know what they're doing. Since when has Metroid been a strong seller, much less a Smash level hit?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

This is kind of strange. I love metroid, but it has never been a huge seller. If they said the this for the next Pokemon I would understand the drop more.

Could have something to do with this instead of Metroid though

No. A stock drop is temp. Probably be up by weeks end. I mean beyond the stocks, the internets reaction to the Metroid news has been pretty universally liked. It's refreshing to have a company be so honest.

But putting it in a direct, would have sullied a direct. Best to have the bad news be on its own and not take away from somethign else

This is precisely why I have decided to put my money into shares for the first time in December. I believe that most of the investors have the money, but they don't have the knowledge.

And yes I swear this is true, I am watching this share curve evolving every hours every days, it has started to seriously fall just a few hours after the announcement. In the same time they are screaming everywhere that the Switch really destroyed it in 2018.
