Forums - Sales Discussion - ZhugeEX "Xbox One sales around 41m"

So XboxOne only sold around 8 million per year from launch to now? That's not very good at all especially with all the effort they put in with a redesigned model with 6tflops.

Not one game takes advantage of that GPU, exclusives would do that. It also has a bigger bottleneck than the pro, it is a big ass doorstep.

I had Xbone pegged for 60-65m lifetime but that's starting too look a little over-optimistic.

One thing's for sure, they need to drop the "Xbox One" branding and pick a new name for their next system, the words "Xbox One" have come to be associated with inferiority.

I know just the right name for that !

It shall be called : "Xbox Windows 10" :O

They could just put it into the surface group.

It should be able to sell 50 million.
2019 - 5 million
2020 - 3.5 million
Another half a million will be scrounged up easily.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

50 million lifetime sounds very achievable to me, I think it's lowballing a bit to suggest it won't reach this number.

It may be limping along relative to its competitors but its not like the Wii U where sales were at an absolute snail's pace. 5 million this year and 4 million beyond that shouldn't be too difficult. There's even room for price cuts; making the S $200 and the X $350 permanently could help keep sales rolling until their replacement arrives.

Heck, I'm honestly still skeptical we'll see Nextbox/PS5 in 2020 at all, it would not surprise me at all if they hold out til 2021.

His comment about digital sales being so much higher on Xbone was interesting. Wonder what the shares are. I’d imagine for multiconsole owners, download speeds on PSN are probably a big factor.

Were talking before next gen starts. Xbox does a huge portion of it's selling during promotions throughout the holidays. It won't be selling 3.5m from the start of 2020 to the xbox release if it happens before the holiday. No chance. Plus there's an extra 500k to sell so we might as well say 4m.

Also guys they're talking about the VGChartz numbers on era. I think it's time for adjustments. I give vgchartz tracking because MS have literally been no help whatsoever by not giving out numbers.

I was not saying XBO won't achieve 50M lifetime. I was saying BEFORE next Xbox comes, probably around November 2020 as late.

I don't think XBO sells 4M in 10 months in 2020...

Well, it's not like Xbox One is going to instantly stop selling when its successor comes out. The 360 sold about 5 million units after the Xbone's release.

wow its overtracked by over 2m? even though its only at like 43m.... dang.

Its sales in EU & ROW must be lower than on here then.

This means that Switch will most likely pass the XB1 in LTD sales before 2019 is over. I'd say for sure, but Nintendo's release schedule remains a mystery and therefore the first 6-9 months of the year could be quite meh.

With this news? yes I believe so.

Yeah sales in some regions like Spain and Japan are truly tragic. I'm going to make a thread about Spain numbers in a few minutes so take a look.
