MS prediction before this gen was like 300M or 400M. Back to reality.

It was actually 200 million, but still, a bit short on that one.

What don't you like about it?

While you really should elaborate as to why there are a lot more dissatisfied consumers out there who bought an Xbox one expecting it's games to be as good as the 360 days. Many of these have since converted to ps4 or pc and probably won't buy the next xbox.

"Is Switch 8th or 9th gen" is up there with "is Switch a handheld or a console" as one of the most overplayed and pointless discussions of recent years on here.

As to the actual thread topic, I'm revising my lifetime estimate for Xbone to 55 million.

What generation do you think it fits in?

This means that Switch will most likely pass the XB1 in LTD sales before 2019 is over. I'd say for sure, but Nintendo's release schedule remains a mystery and therefore the first 6-9 months of the year could be quite meh.

Yep. I've been saying the switch will either tie with or surpass the Xbox One in 2019, myself (mid last year). This is the truth.

You bring up a good point. How many will feel burned by xbox and and go playstation only next gen? Multy console owner has only been comon since last gen. But with MS lacking output of games, and lack of quality of the few out, how many of thouse multy console owners will just skip the next xbox?

I know they got a few new studios, but as of now that means nothing untill they actually bring out the games.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I had Xbone pegged for 60-65m lifetime but that's starting too look a little over-optimistic.

One thing's for sure, they need to drop the "Xbox One" branding and pick a new name for their next system, the words "Xbox One" have come to be associated with inferiority. Even after all these years they've been unable to outrun the shadow of 2013's monumental blunders.

The next xbox will be coupled in harmony with Windows 10. I could see this affecting the name. Xbox is more about services than being focused on the console, so we'll see.

My prediction was 45 to 50 mil max by the end of gen. Ive been out of the loop on VG Chartz most of 2018, so my prediction was from 2017.
