I didn't mean elitist as an insult because you don't see thing my way. It's the best word to describe your way of thinking in my opinion.

You don't care about the work or the innovation put by the devs in their software to decide if it's praiseworthy or not, you care about the "pure power" of the tool. With the same thinking, we could say that the Xbox One X is way more praiseworthy than the Switch, because it's a lot more powerful and can play more games thanks to that. But innovation is not about "more power" or "doing more things, more detailed". Creating something new, more easily accessible and open to more people, can easily be considered more innovative than just updating the usual tools with more power.

That's why for me, Dreams is potentially (we'll see the final product) more praiseworthy than the latest UE. It does things differently, and surely required way more thinking about how to make it right than for UE, because creating accessible software can be a lot harder than professional one.

If we went by that way of thinking, then we may as well call scientists of higher learning elitist. There is nothing wrong with putting more stock into something that does more than something else. I'm not one for praising what can fit into a calculator, but more one who can see a marvel of tech being used with something else, to create something more advanced. I'm more for advancements and higher tech, rather than what could be done with half of something.

See, phones can do all sorts of things today than they ever could 10-15 years ago, but since they are still phones, they can still only do so much, and as a result, my PC can still do better than what can be done on a phone. When phones reach a stage where they can do everything on par with my PC at the same time, then I could see myself giving praise, but until then the device cuts itself short.

I'm not sure about the not caring part either. I do care about what the devs are doing, but the part I don't care about is the GIMP like focus, if you know what GIMP is, compared to other software, you'd understand what I mean. I care about the use of said raw power, not the tool itself, because like it or not, the tool becomes outdated, but the idea itself can evolve. Reason why I don't see it with the X1X is that the device itself was outdated months after it's release, to which you would have to again compare it to a PC, not a budget PC either but something else with "raw" (The device itself isn't pushing raw power, it's not blasting through, brute forcing it's games like you do on PC, hence why it needs "optimization" for it's games) power, and even then the X1X would lose and become what the Switch looks like to the X1.

You can do things more detailed though, and there is nothing wrong with wanting to see more detail and effort put into something, but you must also understand that putting less effort, wanting less, is not on the same level of praise as doing more and adding more detail. We just don't live in a world where everything can be 50/50 fair and square. Doing more, adding more should always go above and beyond than what is done with and providing less.

Again, you and I see things differently. You see small uses of power as something that is allowed to be praised more than going beyond what's possible and what could be possible, while I am for the latter rather than the former.

For me, what I see being done with Amazon's Lumberyard engine with Star Citizen, is something I've always dreamed of with gaming, and something I believe is more praiseworthy than what we see being constantly regarded as "AAA" within the industry. Creating software to be made for some can be hard, but that doesn't automatically make it objectively greater than an engine that allows for so much more.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"
