Finally, the sales of the XB1 is 41 million consoles.

That's an estimate by ZhugeEX, hence "around 41m."

Last year his estimate was ~34m if I remember correctly.

Mmm... How much of those 41M sales are just from USA and UK?

X Box brand is basically dead outside those territories....

About 2/3 of the total sales.

Oh, sorry, missed that

ZhugeEX is generally a reliable person so it can be said that these figures are closer to reality.

That's quite... unexpected. I mean 2 million overtracked by VGChartz is quite a lot, I know is 5% of overall unit, but still...

Well since we have no official figures whatsoever from Microsoft, I think VGChartz is actually pulling a pretty decent job

Thanks!. It's superweird how a console can do so well in USA+UK but so bad in the rest of the world...

I guess xbox and 360 were really popular there so they focused on those countries, ads, kind of games... Even the 360 was not that big outside those countries (of course more than XONE). Maybe Kinect and other games made it more popular in the European market, but imo the public they gained was also due to ps3 high price during its firsts years and not very "loyal", when they saw ps4 was more powerful and cheaper they didn't doubt. In my case in Spain 2 or 3 friends had 360 but they bought ps4 after that.

And despite that the rest is not 5 times better than France or Germany like in the case I'm pointing out.

... making a lot of assumptions i didn't made. I didn't use "a ratio of a ratio". Where did you get that? the % i used was between two absolute numbers being the second a 100% bigger than the first.

I am sorry but do you even understand what you are writting ?

5 TIMES BETTER.

You said it. You are comparing a 20% YOY increase (a ratio) with a 100% YOY increase (a ration) and you do 100/20 (a ratio). What do we have ? A ratio of a ratio. Looking at the YOY increase is already a nonsense, but we can even look at the share of "the rest" for PS4, X1 and Switch for 2018

PS4 : 7469K - 1100K - 1163K - 959K = 4247K. 56.86% of the european market is outside the big three for the PS4.

X1 : 1805 - 600K - 246K - 309K = 654K. 36.23% of the european market is outside the big three for the X1.

Switch : 4742- 821 - 691 - 1131 = 2099K. 44.26% of the european market is outside the big three for the Switch.

Short story : in 2017, the Switch had a share for "the rest" similar to the X1. Hardcore fans. In 2018 they started to be a "everybody's console". Simple and easy.

Right in the middle. What, do you expect that the big three have a bigger share than X1 for the Nintendo Switch ? And by the way, when you were again spamming a similar message in the December 22nd topic, I am getting tired of the "prove me wrong".

As a Spanish too, we are the least surprised about XBO doing bad, but I did not expected such decline in other countries...

So, assuming Switch isn't similarly overtracked here, the gap is just 11 million or even less.

Maybe 2019 will be the year Switch overtakes Xbone after all.

Thats crazy, I could only see xbox one in bookoff when i was living there (second hand shop). I guess the market also dropped there and they were the weakest victim... I also see Japanese market as something really stable, if something does well it will stay like that, and if it gets popular people will just buy (ok this sounds a bit dumb sorry), but it is really difficult for a console like xbox one to grow after the tragic sales of firsts weeks
