0.393 when measuring FP32
0.79 when measuring FP16.
If you are comparing to 1.3 TF of Xbox One, use FP32.

But still, every game must work on portable mode, so the number we have to use for switch is around 0.15

0.15 TF ?  That's why the best looking Game on PS3 or XBox 360 still look better than anything on Switch, right ?  Games like The Last of Us or Uncharted3 look more impressive than the best looking game on Switch from what I remember; I should see them side by side to be sure though.

That 0.79 TFlops is most certainly in FP16 aka half precision, while the 0.393 is in FP32 aka Full or single precision. XBO and PS4 GPU are from a time half precision was seldom used and thus are unable to do 2 half precision calculation in place of one in full precision.

In other words, Switch has about one quarter of XBO performance in FP32, but that advantage is cut to just half when half precision is in use. An upgrade to an X2 in 10 or 7nm should be able to match the XBO in half precision without taxing the battery too much, but not yet in FP32.

It unfortunately seems that there isn't all too much use in video games for half-precision calculations from what I read about the topic (it also came up with the PS4 Pro). Certainly not enough to speed up the code by a factor of 2, maybe a 10-20% gain is realistic if it's used to full extend.

My Laptop is faster than every one of those machines. My laptop! Not even my desktop. It's friggin' time for new consoles!

Not that I would care about power in a Nintendo console though. =P

Most laptops on the market can't play games as well as the Xbox One. The laptops that can cost significantly more than a Xbox One. For the record, the Xbox One X is pretty great.

Its not really fair to compare your laptop to a Switch because the Switch is significantly smaller.

More important than the exact power of Switch's GPU, I think we have to look at what it does in practice.

Nintendo is amazing at making well polished games on the limited specs of the hardware. However, its the multiplat ports is where you see the hardware really lacks. I mean games like Ark, Doom, or Wolfenstein don't demonstrate the Switch is anywhere near the Xbox One in GPU power.

Doom, Wolfenstein 2 and the likes show that Switch is far from a PS4One, yes. At the same time i can play those games on the go on a real mobile device, which is pretty great. And basically that's what Switch is about.
Playing Doom at the hotel balcony late at night on a Greek island is something i couldn't have done with any other console.

Yeah, so did you.

I swear that Nintendo fans don't care about power, guess not.

Your post was dumb though.

Its arguably wrong and it sounds like you weren't even certain about what you were saying.

Yeah, that's the advantage of a portable device. On the other hand, if you want the best graphics on Consoles, the best 3rd party game experience on Console, you need to buy an XBox One X;   Playing on a sofa in front of a 4K TV Forza Horizon4 in full glory is something special, and the same for RDR2 and many other games.  The beauty of taste and opinions.

People who buy Switch do not care about graphics power or TF; it doesn't matter. It's mostly a portable, and it's by Nintendo.    I got the feeling that Ninty will abandon the Home console market and will develop only portable hardware in the future.
