I was worried about God of War, Spider Man, PS VR purchase, but now Im confident as hell the game will bang.
I know there will be comparisons for TloU, and perhaps this will be love it or hate it scenario, but for me, this is most enticing Sony game in years,

Not blown away by any means, but I'm expecting a very decent and enjoyable game and theres nothing I can get from the trailers that tells me it wont be.
As for TLOU2 comparison, I dunno, Days Gone releases in april, TLOU2 doesnt have an official release date yet, and considering its mid-january I imagine it wont release close to Day Gone. Aside from that I really doubt the games have much in common.

This game looks very interesting. I'm definitely supporting it.

I wouldn't say I'm hyped about it, but it does look intriguing and I am certainly keeping my eye on this one. Unless reviews are terrible, I will probably be purchasing this.

I also wonder with it being an apocalyptic zombie game, if PS would want to somewhat limit it's scope to a degree, so it doesn't overshadow TLOU2 in any way. Allowing Days Gone to come up a bit short might be worth it for PS to make sure TLOU2 blows peoples minds and sets records. That wouldn't mean Days Gone would necessarily suck either. I think PS could fairly easily combat this by just making sure there is a year or more gap between those two titles.

Yes, Sony will limit the scope of the game by allowing the devs to delay the game and put in more money and man hours to polish it up so that it is not only in better shape, but also nearer to TloU2 when that launches.

This thread is weird.

Tlou2 doesn't need propping up. It alone can overshadow most games this year or even next, with relative ease.

How do you know the extra time was solely allowed for to make the game better and more polished? How much more money did they pour into it during those extensions? It's just as possible it was delayed so it wouldn't be overshadowed by other titles launching beforehand, or even this month. If the game was that great, it shouldn't really matter when it launches, like RDR2 and BO4.

I'm not saying the game will be trash and is purposely being sabotaged, I'm just saying from a PS perspective, if TLOU2 was launching before years end, having a blockbuster apocalyptic zombie game in late April, and another in November let's say, is kinda like a restaurant only offering KD for the entire year. People don't like too much of the same thing, and even worse, too much of it all at once.

Like I said before, whether the scope was limited in terms of what the game could have been overall, I still think it seems like while it could be an average title, that it's possibly a stock looking Civic that can blow the doors off a Corvette. You just wouldn't know it at first glance.

I think it's gonna be pretty good. I liked the most recent trailer to be sure. I get the idea of Zombies/Apocalypse AKA the Undead Endtimes being thematically tired, but if the game is good, that won't matter.

Looks enjoyable. Sure it's nothing completely new and doesn't set a new bar for video games but it doesn't need to be the next The Last of Us to be successful and fun game. It's the first game from Sony Bend since 7 years, let's wait and see how this will turn out.

I sorta felt the same for State of Decay 2, and wouldn't have played it if it weren't for game pass.

I predict at least an 82 Opencritic score. Make your bets folks! Make your bets! How well do you think Days Gone will score? We can bump this thread in April to embarrass the people that are wrong! :D
