Forums - Sony Discussion - 25 Year Playstation!!! the right time for the big guns?

They'll release games when they are finished (enough), not when an arbitrary date (which even differs from region to region) is reached.

This is it exactly. Same goes for Expos as well. No point in forcing releases of Games or Announcements. I hope Sony will move completely to releasing and announcing when the time is right, and forget about holidays or specific events.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Sony should be pulling out another shooter game honestly, idk if they have any other major titles besides the Kill zone franchise (Gonna completely ignore Farpoint VR). But it has been 5 years since Killzone: Shadowfall. It seems like they just ticked off the box for shooter titles on their platform to compete with Halo and Gears, and then never bothered to do it again (Until PSVR released), and they barely pulled it off since Killzone wasn't all that much of an impressive game. Same with racing games for them, they should have their very own open world AAA racer by this point, Microsoft already has 4 of them.

Whether they do it or not won't affect me (I won't ever buy a PS4 for the life of me), but they should be providing the western player base with some classic FPS fun every once and a while.

Aside from the bulletproof stuff that is known to be on the way this year, it sure sounds like Death Stranding is going to release in 2019 as well. I had a crazy feeling for a spell that Death Stranding, TLOU 2, and Ghost Of Tsushima were all going to drop in 2019.

Sony seems to be doing fine without shooters. Why bother, when third parties know how to make them and are providing more than enough?

PS1 Classic says hi..

But on a more serious note, i agree they should only release when ready not based on a date, that doesnt always work out for the customers.

I can't wait for The Last of Us Part II, Days Gone, Dreams, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding !
Dreams and Days Gone are coming in 2019, and I'm confident The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima are coming as well. I have some doubts about Death Stranding though. We'll see.
For the time being, Congrats Sony !

Well they could more easily give heavy discounts or free handouts of PS1 classics. Or announce small scale sequels of fan favorites like Soul Reaver and Siphon Filter.

I agree with both, we need a great shooter and a great open world racer on PS5. According to Tidux (I can't remember his track record), a new SOCOM game is in development at Sony.

Bold: Out of curiosity, can I ask why? Issue with Sony? Don't care about their exclusives/Japanese games?

i like your games-taste!

I suspect last year was they year that they released their "big guns".  I also wouldn't be surprised if some of those games in the OP are really PS5 games.

However they might actually release the PS5 at the end of this year.  It's right on time to do it, and it would appropriate to celebrate their "25th anniversary".
