Check again. UK>GER for Switch. GER is also 80M+ population v 67M for UK.

Switch is half as popular in Germany as it is in France (per capita).

That's not how marketshare works.

True, but he's right, at least if we just compare PS4 to Switch sales. PS4 sales are more or less the same between the 2 countries (6.2M UK to 6.3M DE), however German Switch sales are trailing behind by a good 20% (1.5M UK to 1.1M DE)

My guess is games like assassins creed and red dead redemption on the ps4 had a massive impact of tales of vesp for the ps4.

AAA open-world western games that released in October are affecting the sales of a remastered decade old JRPG released in January? That's a new one.

I personally dont agree with the UK being weak for Nintendo argument. It's more like UK is similar to US where Xbox does well which takes sales from PS and makes all three are competitive.

Here are 2018 sales per region with marketshare

UK

PS4-1.07m (43.3%)

NSW-0.81m (32.8%)

XBO-0.59m (23.8%)

Germany

PS4-1.12m (55.4%)

NSW-0.66m (32.6%)

XBO-0.24m (11.9%)

France

PS4-0.93m (40.8%)

NSW-1.05m (46.0%)

XBO-0.30m (13.2%)

Europe

PS4-7.23m (53.3%)

NSW-4.56m (33.6%)

XBO-1.76m (13.0%)
