Forums - Sony Discussion - Question Regarding Knack

So I’ve been playing Knack and I’m really enjoying it. But there’s one thing that irks me; the design of the character. I’m fine with the overall art-style but the main character is just plain awful! I’ve heard some say that the way Knack looks put them off the game and I can totally understand why. The character looks downright hideous! Anyone else think the game would’ve probably faired better had Knack not looked like melted, multicolored LEGOS? What say you?

To be honest I didn't really like any of the character designs in Knack I found them to be ugly.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

always just seen his character design as a sort of Tech demo for the PS4's particle ability rather than an actual well thought out looking character.

They could have done both but settled on a bad design

Well I do just look at him the same as Vectorman from the Megadrive game of the same name, at the time awesome looking and outstanding on the hardware because of how much movement the technology gifted the character, he was iconic because he was so animated.... but of course that doesn't evolve, a tech demo from one generation can't really go on to be a character on hardware down the line because his only main characteristics are the hardware limitations of the system they were designed on, at least... I couldn't picture Vectorman in a X1/PS4 title

I feel like that might have been the case with Knack and instead it was made into a game and not the other way around. Similar to Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube, it was sort of used as a showcase demo for the GC and than was made into a game.

I Loved and still love this game
The design the graphics and gameplay are great and very jump and run that I like

Vectorman was awesome and I would love to see a comeback from him...

Ì had nothing against the design, I thought it was fine. Not that I think they will make a Knack 3 but if I was to change anything about the game then it would be the fixed camera.
