And wow, the poll is split right down the middle.

Well it should be up compared to next year but next months the baseline could go down by a lot it is a bit dry for games releases till Yoshi.

Just updated.
3 weeks into the year and 2019 is already up by over 120k.
I'm not too sure if 70kish is the new baseline for the Switch. Still taking a wait and see approach with that, but it should hopefully still be higher than last year's.

While I think the real baseline is lower than 70K, I doubt Switch will drop below 50K anytime soon.

Not going under 50k would be very impressive. Well what do you define soon, i will be surprised it not go under 50k till Yoshi's release. Well the week before you also have choco dungeon and dead or alive extreme 3 but doubt they move a lot of units.

Last year sales stayed most of the time over 40K during winter, with just very small dips to 39K. My feeling is that the baseline is a good 10K higher, thus holding those 50K mostly until spring.

Week 4 Numbers have been added. While still ahead, 2019 is starting to fall back to the 2018 baseline.

Still over 2018 with no new release, I wonder if can keep this up ...

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe?

I'm kind of jealous of Japan. They get Dragon Quest 11 and Yokai Watch 4, along with all of the other big titles like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon. Meanwhile, we may not even get DQ11 or YW4 over here till another year (though I think DQ11 getting a port to Switch in 2019 for the rest of the world isn't completely unrealistic).

69K this week, Switch is building it's lead over last year very fast.

It the rise in other regions is even just halfway as great, then this looks like it could be a truly superb year for the Switch

Just posted the new numbers now that I got a moment. The restocked Pokemon bundle had a big effect this week. Now 2019 is up by over 150k.
