Nintendo's paid online service continues to disappoint

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's paid online service continues to disappoint

They're both solid NES games but this service is still a joke. I subscribed to NSO to play Smash online the NES services is just a bonus for me... a very disappointing bonus so far.

Can't be disappointed if you've never bothered with the offerings in the first place.

Don't know of this Blaster Master game but Blaster Master Zero is awesome! I highly recommend it!

Not sure if you're joking but I'll state it for everyone who doesn't know like the OP. Blaster Master Zero is a remake of Blaster Master on NES. The NES game is really good but much harder than the remake due to a limited number of lives and continues.

The service as it stands right now is a waste of money as far as I'm concerned. The only thing it has going for it is that it's cheap, but it's still paying for practically nothing of real value. Maybe once Nintendo stops this ridiculous dripfeed of 30-year-old titles that everyone who cares about them has already played several times over and starts actually releasing their NES, SNES and N64 classics at a faster pace (several games a week would be a good start) the service might finally have some real value to it.

Zelda II is amazing and way better than people make it out to be. It only got its reputation as the black sheep in the series years after its release because it doesn't follow the "traditional" 2D Zelda formula. Blaster Master is great, too. But this month is still disappointing: Nintendo promised threegames per month and they can't even deliver that outside of Japan.

But I'll keep my hopes up. I still think the NES service is just Nintendo's playing ground for a real classic streaming service. I'd gladly pay 50 bucks a year for a solid collection of SNES, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance games. It just makes too much financial sense to do it: They'd easily get over 10 million subscribers for such a service.

This! in fact I would say Zelda II is better than the following Zeldas at a minimum:

Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass, Skyward Sword

, Wind Waker, A Link Between Worlds, Majora...probably Four Swords, too, but that is a tough comparison since Four Swords is multiplayer.  Of course Zelda II is toug to compare to most of the above games since it is a more intense platforming/ swordfigting experience

Two games still sucks, though, and it would also be best if Ninty started adding SNES games as not everyone wants their games NES hard.

Nintendo shouldnt be chargeing for their online, if the best they can do is everything is same or worse as before they started chargeing, and all they give is a few NES games.

I wouldn't be as bothered if they actually had servers for the online, competitive games are hampered by wayward netcode.

Oh, good to know. Thanks!

I'm not gonna defend their practice of giving us 2 games, but the 2 games they did give us are bloody fantastic. Some of the best on the system.

Looks like today's outrage culture is at it again.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Well considering it's easy and vastly available to run emulated version of NES games, they could put more SNES or N64 games now and then.
