Were you the one who said that it wouldnt release in March/April because of 2d Mario?

If so, what did I tell ya!

I can't remember honestly. My memory is so shocking I've been known to make the same thread twice six months apart, having forgotten about the first time. XD

Lol I'm mostly messing anyways ... I'd be a hypocrite if I held being right in a prediction over somebody.

And yeah, same! It gets particularly bad when I see similar threads all the time, or have a couple of tabs open

Either way, yeah! More good games for us!

Also .... Optimistic Curl coming 2019? :o

Quite possibly; at this point in time I'm feeling pretty good about this year. It's already promising several games I look forward to, and they'll almost certainly be more that haven't been announced yet. I'm trying not to build up my expectations too high, but Yoshi arriving earlier than expected is certainly an encouraging start.

Yeaaaahhhh!!!!

Out of curiosity, what games would you like in 2019 that haven't been announced yet?

Well, I'd love to see a proper post-World Monster Hunter game for Switch, the rumored Star Fox racer by Retro, and if unlikely dreams are allowed, Vanquish 2 and The Last Story 2.

I was hoping for a late February release and a late March release for Fire Emblem: Three Houses.  Now it feels like Nintendo is going to lean hard on Three Houses to carry the 1st half of the year.

You don't think Town or AC has a chance at a June release? They have Town, Luigi's Mansion 3, Animal Crossing and Pokemon left for big heavy hitters and I kind of doubt that all those would be the last half of the year with only 2 big games releasing in the first half.

Yeah, I was fairly sure this was coming in March. I'd expect Fire Emblem: Three Houses in May (especially given Awakening, Fates and Echoes launched in May 2013, 2015 and 2017 in the West).

This (and other announcements in the last 24 hours) probably rules out a January Direct, which is a shame. I'm considering buying Tales of Vesperia, Mario and Travis Strikes Again this month, so I'll have plenty to play (Iconoclasts, Dark Souls, Sushi Striker, Hyper Light Drifter and Golf Story in my backlog, too), but I was hoping for a Direct to give us some indication of major releases for spring and summer.

Luigi's Mansion feels like a Halloween release and Pokemon is typically November, but if Nintendo is smart they'll have Animal Crossing out for Summer. I'm not confident they will after last year's slow Q2, but it seems like the best play to stimulate and maintain strong momentum through the middle of the year. There'll also almost certainly be a couple of major games this year that we don't know about yet.

Nah, I called June due to previous cases of Mario Tennis and ARMS both being "Spring" titles and released in late June. Happy to have been wrong.

All we've seen of Animal Crossing is a title card and CG tease. I'd expect Luigi's Mansion 3 before Animal Crossing, though whether it makes June or July is another thing - but we've seen actual gameplay of it and the reveal Direct said there's a lot to talk about for Luigi's Mansion 3, but they're saving it for another time. That makes me think if any of the biggest three games we can expect this year (AC, Pokemon, Luigi), it's the likeliest candidate for a summer release.
