So about 2.5 was in November and 3.1 in December correct?

91.6 million by December 31st.
VGC has 90.5 million by December 15th.
Looks like even with the latest adjustments, there is still some slight overtracking on VGChartz' part. Still incredible sales from Sony though. 100 million is just around the corner!

So, because i don't expect Nintendo doing any price cut for Switch in 2019 (only if the sales are not as good as expected), i expect 2019 to be really close between PS4 and Switch again. PS4 should at least be able to reach 17M with that price cut, and if TLOU Part II launches in 2019...., it's almost a guarantee. |
I cant see 2019 being that close. Switch has a much better lineup and a price cut coming plus Smash legs to start off the year.

I auto prohibited myself to talk anymore about Switch sales, because obvious reasons in recent threads.... It was just a commentary about how i expect 2019 console gaming sales. I already said and explained in the last few weeks and months why i expect 17M, maybe 18M Switch sold to consumers in 2019. I think selling 17M would be another impressive year for Switch, but of course, if people are expecting 20-25M sales in 2019, i'm in the pessimistic side in this site, but it's all right, every opinion is fair to me.

I mean i think 25 million is high, but I can see 21-22 million. I think Sony can definitely stick to 17M i just dont think it will be as close as this year. This year is still up in the air.
edit: I did not mean Switch has a better 2019 lineup than PS4 i meant it has a better lineup than 2018.

Indeed, we still need to know how much did Switch during 2018 first. The problem is that Nintendo doesn't give sold through numbers, so we'll need to compare shipments numbers when Nintendo and Sony realese their Q3 results at the end of the month. Sony tends to overship greatly during Q3, and Nintendo not su much, so we'll see what really happened and how we interpret the numbers.
Great sales for the Playstation 4, one of my most played console. Between Switch and PS4 success really reflects my enjoyment in games in the last couple of years.
Im expecting the PS4 to do like 16m in 2019.
That ontop of the 91.6m should mean early 2020 the PS4 will be at ~108m.
2019 is the year the PS4 overtakes the Wii & PS1 and becomes the 2nd best selling home console of all time (DS+gameboy are handhelds).
