What are you talking about? People are speculating switch did 10-12mil with the last quarter and could very well achieve their goal. And it's massively up from last year's 1.5mil might even be 2.5mil+ in December. It's much better for switch this year and if true, could very well mean that switch reaches its goal

Yeah I can easily see 2 million plus for Switch in December. Smash is probably selling 5 million copies in just the US for December. 10 million + globally. Japan we already know was around 2.3 million Smash sales. And im pretty sure Smash sold 3 million in the US in the first 11 days.

Some speculate novemNov sales were so high that they had stock issues and maybe buyer burnout and people just threw their money at smash and switch so they didn't have enough for the other 2. If true, then probably a combination of the 3 points above

PS4 did not have stock issues in December, this is the 2nd year in a row that they had amazing deals for Black Friday week followed by mediocre or no deals for December.

December is looking huge for Switch. I could see something like

N. America-2.5 million
Japan-1 million
Europe-2 million
RotW-500k
Global-6 million

You didn't make it clear the joke was specifically about the profits. You can still make that joke even if what you said was true.

If Nintendo has sold 25 million going into December, and they sold 17 million last year, then that leaves 8 million of the 20 million sold so far. If they manage to have sold 6-7 million for December then that puts them 5-6 million shy of the goal. That means they would still need to hit about 2 million a month in sales. I wonder what lineup and plan they have to keep demand up and reach those levels during the years slowest sales period.
