Forums - Sony Discussion - Dreams Global Game Jam Stream At 5pm GMT Today!

The problem with Dreams is that it requires actuall skill and thinking for full enjoyment.
And because a lot of ppl including me lag behind in these areas, we can only wait for the better ones to handle the weight of make this game flourish to its full potential.

I honestly have no clue what Dreams really is. From reading in this thread it seems to be a dev kit with integrated asset store and not a game. Can someone describe the main difference between Dreams and the Unity engine/ Unreal engine or the creation kit for Skyrim?

There is no difference really. It's just that Dreams integrates all the disciplines in one place and is easier to use. Other than that, it's the same as Unity or Unreal. People are already making stand out stuff and it's only been two weeks. Baring in mind this is a development tool, I reckon we should be seeing some extraordinary creations after people have had it for months.

The PS5 Exists.

It should be mentioned that Dreams also has a game to play that was made with the same tools that everyone else gets.

Oh my goodness. I've been searching this thing all wrong LOL. I didn't know you could go to the UI categories and search for user created stuff in each one. I've been trawling through the lot one by one ...

I've seen some things ... I need to get BETTER.

I'm not sleeping on it, I just have no interest in the game.

It's not my bag, baby.

What I'm looking forward to is the conversation that goes something like:

'Ah, this is quite a good game. What's it called?'
'Double Twist.'
'Is it available on the store?'
'Not yet.'
'How are you playing it then?'
'It's made with Dreams.'
'Oh ... it's not THAT good really ... Dreams just isn't my thing.'

Yes I usually have dreams while I sleep

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

And this may be the opportunity for LoD Remake to arise...
Plus Sony could make it into an engine for indies to make and sell their games on PS.
