Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best (Pre Nintendo Switch) Handheld Game of All Time?

That's a tough one.

I'm torn between Pokemon FireRed on the Game Boy Advance and A Link Between Worlds on the 3DS.

Pokemon gold silver crystal very easy choice

GameBoy Advance for me. It had full BC with the original gameboy and was just a natural step forward overall. If you had an SP with a backlight, it was even better...in fact I would say the SP version would be the real winner here after reflecting on the struggles we all had with the OG version that did not have the backlight.

Did you read the headline?

Pokemon Yellow....
Tetris DS
WarioWare Inc.
Rhythm Heaven
Super Mario 3d Land

Hard choice but would still say Yellow is the best for me, most time and enjoyment earned from it.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan on the gameboy.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is the best handheld game ever made. Which makes a strong case for the GameBoy to be the best handheld console of all time. 3DS however is up there, I’m not sure which one I’d pick.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA) or Hotel Dusk (DS)

The right answer is Tetris. Looking back over the years, I'd also have to mention Bravely Default & Advance Wars.

Persona 4 Golden is essentially a port from PS2 and therefore shouldn't count, great though it is.

For me:
Pokemon Fire Red
Mario and Luigi superstar saga (gba)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
