I use a 5.1 surround system from Vizio for my 75'' Sony x900f tv

Sound Bar, 2 satellite speakers and a sub woofer (behind the theater sofa set)

Barely even use my TV's volume any more. No regrets and no going back lol.

Yamaha receiver... And a full 5.1 Dynamics Polaris series 2.

Amazed at the amount of people with... Lord forbid. Sound Bars.

In a year or two when I upgrade to a 85'' TV - I'll go all out with a Receiver and a 7.1 surround system if not a 5.1.

Yeah. Plan is to upgrade to 7.2 at some point... Maybe 2019 or 2020. - And migrate the current old 5.1 audio system to my PC once I create some more space.
My PC has a Sharp 5.1 Hifi system that is probably 10~ years old at this point, but still does the job.

I like it loud and proud.

I did try a sound bar once... Once. Not worth the coin over a TV's built in speakers in my opinion.

My current TV is starting to feel small at around 65". - So looking to upgrade that as well, especially as 75"-90" panels start getting cheaper.

Getting ready for next-gen gaming.

Yamaha receiver with B&W speakers. 5.1 set up. I use ARC so I can game in 4K HDR with sound. It sucks ARC doesn't support linear PCM 5.1 yet DD 5.1 is good enough for games. I doubt many games use uncompressed sound files anyway. I use my ps3 for blu-ray, directly connected to the amp for lossless sound. Akira in 192khz DTS HD-MA 5.1 sounds amazing.

I will never go back to tv speakers or use headphones. Dedicated surround with a good subwoofer sounds so much better. Unfortunately my living room is not suited for 7.1 or Dolby Atmos arrangement unless they invent wireless floating speakers. Vaulted ceilings and open plan living room are great for sound quality, not for speaker placement lol. (And terrible for sound bars with virtual surround, nothing to bounce sound back)

I've been using the older version of that sound bar for a while now. It's great for gaming and for 4K UHD blurays and standard blurays because of the Atmos. I use it in a minimalist apartment and it works great.

Oh nice, do you have the K950? or the N850? I have never experienced Dolby Atmos before, however everyone I spoke to loves it and apparently it makes all the difference. I am in a small room aswell for the time being and I feel I might not be getting the best out of the N950 if I don't plug in the rears. However even at 5.1 channels sound coming out of 17 speakers all with built in amps sounds like a treat and I can always plug in the rears once I finally move.

I have the K950. It works really well especially in the smaller spaces. I think you will really enjoy your new soundbar. The rears do really add an extra dimension to everything especially if you have them at the correct height and have a flat ceiling.

Seems like this thread could benefit from an important note- it is not possible to get anything even close to true Dolby Atmos out of a sound bar. That's basically just a meaningless marketing bullet point on a sound bar.

Well I read many reviews on the N950 Atmos Soundbar and it earnt plenty of phrase for its Atmos technology. Majority of Flagship Soundbars seems to do very well if you are willing to pay the extra cost for the premium models.

I was the same, I heard a few Soundbars in the past and they just felt like TV speakers with surround sound.. however listening to some of the flagship Soundbars these days like the Samsung N850+ range blew my mind. Have you checked out the more expensive and latest Soundbars? They are actually very impressive.

Just my tv speakers. If i want better sound for a game, i put on a headset.

I use headphones because I'm not an asshole to my neighbors or the people in comms.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I use an aging 2.1 system on my PC, Logitech Z2300, works amazingly well to this day, bought it in 2010. I used to have a decent soundbar with a 7,5" subwoofer, but my nephews managed to break it when they came over a couple of years ago, guess I never bothered replacing it.
