What the... You can't be serious

Deadly serious. BioShock is in my top 10 games of all time. Infinite is a stain on the name. Even BioShock 2 is better.

Is this a political anger you have against the game? There are literally extremely high reviews of this amazing game and a select group of pissed of Republicans and Libertarians that despised the game due to political reasons not because of the mechanics, art, music, level building or AI etc

I never expected something like this from you since you usually have good tastes in games so what is your reasoning behind this hatred of one of the best FPS of all time?

I'm not American. But surely if I didn't like it because I was a Rand-ian type Libertarian I wouldn't love the first game? Because despite Ryan being an incredibly charismatic and articulate figure he's quite clearly a villain and his libertarian dream has collapsed, descending into a brutal civil war. BioShock features a lot of libertarian concepts but mostly as a critique.

No it's almost nothing to do with the politics, although BioShock's political elements were more interesting a nuanced imo. No, it's just not a good game. Awful, repetitive wave-based combat, crap AI, uninteresting enemy types, tedious interactions and irritants in the middle of fights ('Look, Booker, I found a coin for the millionth time, here!'), and hazy graphics. And of course it was a massive downgrade over what we were led to expect when initially revealed, from gameplay to locations to story elements. The first half an hour was good but it's all downhill from there on out.

It had clearly become stuck in development hell - too ambitious for the time and for the team and its budget. So they patched it up as best they could and dumped it out. Critics lapped it up, but then they did the same with lots of hyped games that didn't deliver imo, not least GTA IV, so I don't really care that it got high scoring reviews.

Sorry if I offend but all that you said sounds like clouded personal opinion not actual facts and opinions shared by other devs and reviewers except for some of the technical issues the game had which were caused by take two interactive being assholes forcing the game to be finished and budgets constraints.

When I saw back then conservatives praising the game as one of the best FPS ever made even though it "pandered to liberals with a bullshit political agenda" it blew my mind.

No worries though I have a similar situation of not liking a highly praised game like zelda botw due to it being overrated as hell, being boring and having technical/graphical flaws so I am aware we are all different and can interpret art of any kind in very distinct ways. Dont get me wrong though i would not call BOTW a stain on the series like you did to bioshock infinite that def was a bit overboard lol

I quit Infinite about 4-5 hours in. Didn't find it appealing at all, it got tedious very fast.

Thats similar to what i felt for zelda botw but i still try to finish it every once in a while since i did pay for it after all lol

Like i say a select few do not find appeal in every massively applauded game or work of art

BotW was 7/10 for me...I had to force myself to finish it, only 3D Zelda that had me do that (excluding MM, which put me off right from the start with 3 day cycle).

As for Infinite, maybe I was in a bad mood or something, though I doubt it, I've been playing FPS games since the very begging of genre, and though I'm not so fond of many games in the genre, I'm almost always willing to play most of them.

You know what you make a good point i also played FPS games since the origins sort of doom on Genesis i know there was a bit more fps history before that

Actually Infinite has a lot of haters. Gamespot made a second look at it and gave it 4/10: https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/bioshock-infinite-a-fan-scorned/1900-6415464/

I played only the first 30min because after that turned out that it's an arena and hallway shooter with two weapon limitation, but most importantly the gunplay feels clunky, I'm not a fan of shooting games as it is so to impress me you have to have top notch mechanics and a lot more going for the game than just shooting, like for example the Max Payne games.

So a bitter gamespot employee decided to make a rant and that erases the praise of the biggest award shows and magazines and customers etc?

Also you just said you are not a fan of shooting games so if you didn't like it how is that a non bias opinion?

No, that was just one example. But the biggest award shows and magazines were paid off by the publisher, that is their living and how and why they exist. Customers were just mindblown seeing something other than call of duty, it was very good timing for Infinite, I will give it that.
