I'm gonna go with getting a ColecoVision, which came packed with Donkey Kong, a bonus copy of Mouse Trap ( which I shouldn't have got but did. It's another whole story ), and a separately purchased copy of Venture, which is really what made my 8 year old self want the ColecoVision so much to begin with.

The original Legend of Zelda. I opened it early and then wrapped up the box again and put it under the tree. The joke was on me though as I left the map and instructions in the box. Still, it was a great Christmas present.

Back in 2002 I had an SNES, and I got The Flintstones: The Treasure of Sierra Madrock as a christmas gift.

I remember playing it a lot with my friends.

My grandmother got me a box of Atari and Genesis games for Christmas once. Most of them were crap but there were some gems.

I got a fucking Dreamcast for Christmas the year it launched, from my older brother. Then my Dad got me NFL2K. That was an amazing Christmas.

Super Mario Galaxy. I played it with my sister during the holidays. It's by far the best gaming experience I had in my life.

Super Mario All-Stars and Mortal kombat

Did you get to see the Zelda rap commercial as a kid? XD

I don't remember the rap but I do remember this odd commercial: https://youtu.be/E-qBkWerZDg

It seemed like the entire school was playing the game at the same time. I remember being on the school bus when someone found out where level 6 dungeon was. That guy was a hero for like two days!

Was the ColecoVision version of Donkey Kong any good? :)

Yes! At the time, it was absolutely the definitive home version.
