Forums - Sales Discussion - Spider-Man Is The Fastest Selling Superhero Game In The US

Arkham City (per this website)
PS3 NA: 2.72m
X360 NA: 2.99m

Note that the wording only says "fastest selling" and not "best selling", so it's tracking ahead of Arkham City.

The fastest selling Arkham game must be Knight though, it's just that with VGC numbers not counting digital is still behind City, but i rememeber reading somewhere how Arkham Knight was annouced as the fastest selling one....

It was so much fun, happy that it is doing so well. Bring on the final DLC tomorrow

I wasn't aware of that "superhero game" is a genre... I guess Labo is the fastest selling "kids toy simulation game" then... Nintendo should make some PR like Insomniac does... :P

Yes, sure. Even if they want to celebrate less than 2M sales.

But there is a market strategy to cut and slice the market until you are the leader or close to it on that niche.

And the twit was from NPD folk not from Insominiac... but yes, be petty.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

No one really says it's a genre. It's just a fun fact

Besides, Insomniac has nothing to do with the tweet.

This game, probably must have already surpassed 10M sold worlwide, because in Europe has sold a lot too. I don't know what Sony is doing recently with their PR and communication with its userbase but this game deserves an official update in sales before the year ends....but who knows what Sony is thinking recently....

BOOOOM!

The records keep falling. Spiderman, can't stop won't stop.

I call BS.

Spiderman is probably the fastest selling DEAD superhero game.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Is that milestone counting bundles? because NPD doesn't track bundle units sold I think

You're not mad NPD is doing a PR piece for Sony?

I was trying to avoid any discussion because i know i entered in a black list for some posters here (and i know what happens when you are labeled)  but if you want my personal opinion....

I wish it was not NPD who said anything about Spiderman sales, and instead was Sony, because for the same reasons i didn't like the other one, we are receiving an interpretation of sales from NPD without exact numbers, so no, i don't like either. And besides, here, it is a NPD tweet without any official collaboration with Sony, not like the other one with Nintendo.

THE PROBLEM NEVER WAS NINTENDO OR THE INFO IN ITSELF, it was the way it was announced that i consider could've been better, but i know i know, i'm crazy and all of that, but you know, is just an opinion of a regular guy, so who cares....

I guess Arkham City was its direct rival?

Either that or Arkham Knight, I'm not sure which one of those had a faster start.
