Forums - Gaming Discussion - [OFFICIAL] Resident Evil 2 REMAKE Thread

One of the games I've been most looking forwards in 2019. I love the RE7 engine (looks amazing in 4K and Reshaded), so RE2 is going to be one hell of a visual treat :D.

Oh man just played the demo, this game is going to be phenominal, the demo is amazing. Gonna be my game of the year. The 25th feels like 25 years away now. The visuals, HDR, the atmosphere is all just great. The only problem is the demo is only 30 minutes and that’s it lol.

Im not sure if im going to play the original first, might fuck the scaremoments in the new one

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Demo managed to run quite well on my setup, though I wish they added in a bit more than just TAA/FXAA/SMAA. SMAA still produced too many jaggies around every surface, while FXAA didn't do much and TAA blurred things too much. I tried to balance it out by upping the games res scaler, but that only ended up shaving off performance for little IQ gains. THey could have just ran with something else for a better AA solution.

Apart from that, everything else was fine. I even loved how they threw in the option to disable that horrible CA effect. I will say though, that 30 mins for gameplay time was really nowhere near enough. They could have just shown off another hr of gameplay and I would have been satisfied. I was only able to solve at least two puzzles in those 30 mins, and kill around 7 zombies.

The one thing I would like them to make clear and work on, would be their texture sizes. They don't make it visibly clear on the differences between texture sizes. I tried nearly all of them, and the highest didn't really produce massively different results. Really tiny ones if anything.

I'd also like for the brightness options to be made clear as well, as I felt like they altered different parts of the game, without much knowledge on what exactly they were changing with the B&W and then third option settings.

I actually liked the original design of the gunshop its rundown look fits in with the whole vibe better than the new design.

Demo was fun and intense. Will this game have co-op?

They got plenty right with RE7. This was just familiar ground that they could polish up. And it paid off!

Loved RE7 and i am glad that Resident Evil is back to the top tier franchise it should be.
