Finally a Resident Evil game someone actually wants! I'm getting this for sure.

Are you implying that there wasn't a market for the last few Resident Evil games? 5 has the highest sales in the series, 6 sold nearly as well, and 7, in spite of it's radical change to the formula by going first person, has still sold nearly 6m copies and is Capcom's 5th bestselling game of all-time. Even the 5 and 6 ports on current gen have sold over 1m with no graphical upgrades aside from higher resolution: http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/million.html

But I agree that Res 2 Remake looks good for sure. This might be the first horror game I play myself instead of watching a Let's Play of (I'm usually too chicken to play horror games).

There was a market for sure, but the fans of the original two were mostly quite disappointed with the direction the modern ones took. I for one enjoyed RE7 though, even though it technically deviates the most from the established structure of RE overall, as far as gameplay and narrative are concerned, it was the first truly scary RE game in ages and had an incredible atmosphere.

It's kind of like WoW, it had a big fanbase, and this grew only larger, but the original fanbase didn't like the directions it started taking, these are now thrilled to have WoW Classic released, which returns to the roots.

Gonna be my first time experiencing Resident 2 and I'm excited! Are they gonna do new puzzles or keep the old ones?

This game is a dream come true for me. It was always my favorite RE game and I can still remember playing the demo that came with RE1 Director's Cut. There was something special about really getting to explore Raccoon City. I can't wait to play this next month. Already preordered on Steam.

Very excited for this, since I never played the original RE2, but only experienced it through retellings in other games.

I'm going to be streaming it day one!

RE2 was my first RE, and it's cool that in this remake Mr. X follows you trough rooms, like Nemesis in RE3, doesn't stay confined in a single room.

I really like how they've  made the Tyrant act like the T-Type Nemesis, in which it follows you around the area. The twist here seems to be that the Tyrant is constantly on the move, but also reacts to the sounds you make, meaning you'll have to either kill foes silently, or simply avoid them entirely.

He also reacts to you picking up key items.
Not sure how I feel about that, since there will be times I'll want to slow down and take in the scenery. Rather than rush through a room, grab what I need, and get out asap.
I suppose on New Game+, unless they screw it up like in RE6, they could let you keep everything you had with infinite ammo, which could allow you to take in the scenery better on a second playthrough.

Alternatively, it would be interesting if there was a Route A & B to chose from again, and Mr X does not chase you in one of them.

mmhn, I'm also hoping that they vary it up a little. Having him constantly chase you at all times would make it annoying over time.

I've avoided watching any footage of Tyrant for that very reason (he's always been one of my favorite RE villains). I want to go in totally unprepared!

Like above, I am hoping for them to vary it up a little, and not make his tracking patterns predictable.

Ada looking great.

Ehh, though the model does look nice, I feel like it's being held back by the overuse of Chromatic Aberration. I've found that effect to being off putting for me when playing my games with it turned on, as well as it making me dizzy at times.

I've looked up the effect over the years and found that it's common use has mostly been with photography, but movies and most recent years have had the gaming industry making use of the effect (though they really shouldn't, as not everything is supposed to be taken through the lens of a broken camera from the 60/70's).

In motion, CA is hideous. I feel bad for console gamers sometimes, as they have no way of removing it.

I felt morbidly dizzy and almost sick when I was trying to play Dying Light for the first time.

I'd wish for game devs to just avoid using the effect in general. The effect in general is really meant to be used for photography, rather than every form of media. I find devs using it this gen, almost akin to how devs were spamming bloom and lens flare last gen.

I also find that the models tend to lose some quality, thanks to the overuse of the effect.
