Reach for it's campaign and firefight modes. Both were superb.

I didn't choose the poll options, I simply listed the ones most commonly posted.

Even if we set aside expectations though, it can't really be denied that due to the familiar setting Bioshock 2 didn't quite have the originality or mystery that 1 and Infinite had. And I say this as someone who thoroughly enjoyed 2 and considers it underrated. |
I'm not sure you've followed my argument setting aside expectation leaves us with nothing because people's expectation is exactly what I've been talking about, about the rest I have agreed about lack of originality' I stated that before just like you, It's setting and storyline pretty much precluded that my disappointment has always been with the criticism it received not being set against any critical thought as to why that's so.

Well, looks like Doom 2016 is by far the winner democratically speaking.
With another year of the 2010s left, perhaps its own successor Doom Eternal will take the throne.
All in all, while there haven't been quite as many FPS classics this decade as in the 2000s or 90s in my opinion, there's still been a lot of truly great ones.

So basically we're more or less in agreement.

It may have taken us a few day's to get to that obvious conclusion, but if went with the obvious we would have missed out on a tale, that went from rapture to pizza into space with aliens and even included a smattering of zombies what more could we want.
