Forums - Nintendo Discussion - January Nintendo Direct Wish-list and Speculation

Honestly there is so many great games coming in 2019 that i won't even be mad if they don't announce new game for the year or atleast until E3.
There is not many things that i want other than what's coming at this point. Sure i would love a Kid Icarus game or Eternal Darkness but still i'm beyond happy with what we have coming so far.

Maybe the only thing i would like to see is a teaser for Metroid and what Retro is working on.

Around the Network

-Daemon X Machina releases in late February/March;
-Yoshi's Crafted World releasing in March;
-Fire Emblem: Three Houses releasing in April;
-Animal Crossing releasing in May (labelled as Spring);
-Retro announces the Star Fox game for a Summer release (this is the big final announcement);
-Piranha Plant released the same day as the Direct, reminder for people who haven't already to get their golden coins to get PP for free, no info on Joker since development for him started just a few weeks ago;
-Big Third Party port/HD remaster of Nintendo game for February;
-possibly a Bayonetta 3 gameplay reveal with a generic fall 2019 release;
-Town has a title, new gameplay, releasing either REALLY soon or in Summer;

Pokémon of course is a no show because new generations are announced in Pokémon Directs, I think it'll happen in January but it could occur in February for the Pokémon anniversary, alongside Gen 8 they could announce a Mystery Dungeon game for 2020

first of all, big Nintendo Direct won't be in January.

My wishlist would be: Starfox Racing game, DLC Mario Odyssey, Super Metroid Remasterization, and the big surprise a new Castlevania game.

  • Brand new game reveal #1 - I'm hoping for a New IP
    ME: I think Switch is done with new IPs for the time being, the window for those is the launch. A new IP will come with new hardware. I'd put Animal Crossing here instead.

We will definitely getting new IPs before new hardware (unless you meant on Switch revision), especially now when Switch is only platform that Nintendo will keep supporting.

Based on what exactly?

Last year we had quite good Mini Direct even Switch didnt had plenty releases in first couple of months, in 2019. they have much more content to talk about and show than they did in 2018.

I’m only interested in Fire Emblem really, so I’d like to see more of it in the next Direct.

If a Persona 5 port is happening or not.  Persona 4 Golden would be a nice suprise too because I have not played it yet.  I am getting it this summer on VITA if it is not announced for Switch.  The whole Joker in Smash thing has me wondering.

Talking about potential Persona for Switch, maybe we will not need to wait Direct, we can easily have announcement in 2 days.

My personal wishlist?

-Punch Out: whether it's a Switch port of the awesome Wii remake, or a new entry, I would love to see the series return!
-An outline of every NES release for Switch Online
-Dark Souls II (I don't think that Switch is equipped to do Dark Souls III justice, contrary to rumours)
-The announcement of Switch Selects (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario + Rabbids, Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey lowered to $30)
-A release date for Daemon X Machina
-The Gamecube HD Series: Metroid Prime 1-2, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin 1 and 2, Soul Caliber II, Viewtiful Joe, Wind Waker, Fire Emblem, etc. all upscaled to HD and released at a budget price.
-A couple surprise announcements, ala GTA 5, Bioshock, Arkham Asylum.
