Well, it seems that, after the announcement of a certain character for the new Smash Brothers game, the chances of the critically acclaimed Persona 5 coming to the Switch have increased exponentially. Now, some people could say that this doesn't necessarily mean the game will come to the hybrid, but let's be real here: Nintendo would not bother to advertise a character of a game that doesn't appear on a Nintendo console, nor would Sega pass the oportunity to sell the game to a heavily advertised and enthusiastic userbase if given the chance.

So taking that into account, when do you think the game is going to be announced? And when is going to be released?

My bet is that it's going to be announced at the same time as the character arrives to the Switch (February) and released at the beginning of the Summer, maybe in June-July.

Still not sure it's gonna release. Haven't seen a mainline Persona game on any other console but Sony's so far. That's not to say it will never happen though. I'm just not getting my hopes up just yet. You definitely have basis to your claim that it may come.

Or maybe just because PQ2 on 3ds also have him as one of main characters. Or, Persona 5 will come to Switch when SMTV come to PS4 in exchange and Switch ver as well as PS4 ver of SMTV will share the same fate: all nudity/sexual scenes are censored.

April, DLC characters will be released every 2 months IMO, and the plant is schedule for February. So April will be Joker's month, and there just so happens to be a Persona Super Live Concert in April(The Event where all Persona games are announced). It all makes sense. I'm guessing a September release in Japan

Been about two years since Cloud showed up and now all the FFs since VII up to XII are being released so I'd say a similar timeline if a release is coming, imo I think P5's equivalent to Golden/FES will land on the Switch.

Your Persona 5 Switch signature is missing OP. Also, I hear rumors it could be announced at some Persona con or something like that. Though it's just some rumor that I don't believe. If I placed any bets it will be announced in March. Honestly, though I just don't think it is coming in the near future. Nintendo might just be putting Joker in the game for the same reason Cloud is in. He is popular.

Well, Cloud is the most popular Final Fantasy character, and the series does take its roots in Nintendo systems, so it makes sense to put him there over the likes of Terra or generic White/Dark Mage. The same thing could apply to Joker with the Shin Megami Tensei series, which is also rooted in Nintendo, but I doubt either company are going to ignore the sales potential here, not while the iron is hot at least.
