Saying that with rainbow road in mind i can easily say what bullshit is this

I can see CTR selling 20 Million+ on all platforms if it has online. Has this been confirmed?

In-regards to the thread, even then that would be too little too late. Mario Kart 8 will have already sold 20+ Million on all platforms before it's even released. Currently it's sales are at 19.94 million as of September 30th 2018.

But to answer your question, yes it will have online.

I grew up on crash as a kid so I'm partial to the franchise over Mario Kart.

At the time, I much preferred Diddy Kong Racing to Mario Kart, so I totally get why some prefer Crash Team Racing.

To me, CTR is not as varied or inventive as DKC, or the latest Mario Kart, but it certainly holds it own, where so many wannabes have fallen by the wayside over the years.

There's a few ways to remake/remaster a game.
One way is to make the game exactly as it was with modern graphics and sounds (like Crash Bandicoot for the PS4)
Another is to totally remake the game from the ground up (like Resident Evil on the GameCube)
Yet another is to remake the game the way we remember it instead of how it actually was (Punch Out for the Wii)

I'm hoping this game is remade the way we think it was instead of how it actually was. By that, I mean the unparalleled sense of speed, the cartoony animations, the large sprawling tracks with tons of routes, and the great computer AI that always seemed fair and not cheap. They've already got a day one sale from me. I just want it to be every bit as good as I remember, unlike the NSane collection that really showed its age (to me at least).

It's funny how all the Nintendo people in this community try to judge CTR even though they didn't play (or barely played) this masterpiece.

Couldn't that just be said about you and most of the Mario Kart games?

I don't think there's actually much of a cross-over for either games, if you played CTR you were probably a kid at the time and it seems to me like having multiple consoles was more rare in the past than it is now.

Not pretending to be some unique snow flake but I'm 42. I sold my Gameboy in like 1992 and bought two games before I even had an SNES: Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario Kart. I've been a Nintendo fan my whole life but after playing Tekken 2, I bought a PS1. My heart's always been with Nintendo, though.

There's not a PlayStation console I haven't owned, some 2 or 3 times. Same goes for Nintendo, at one point I owned 6 DS consoles. Oddly, my current most played console is the Xbox One with the Switch as a close second.

All of that history just to try to illustrate that I'm about as unbiased as possible. If I do have a bias, it's actually against Sony. I've owned every Mario Kart and played hundreds of hours of the franchise. I get excited with every new Mario Kart release and I've bought each one on day one since MK64 except MK Advance.

I still feel that CTR is amongst the best Kart racers ever made. Right up there with MK Wii, DS, 7, and 8. On any given day, any one of those could be my favorite for one reason or another. It's better than DD,  Diddy  Kong, Advance, 64, Sonic and Sega All Stars, the original, and the other cash ins, easy. But that's just my opinion.

Well Crash come after Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing.

It took the best elements of both at the time and combined them.

Yep.

It's a copy but it's a damn good copy. So many others tried to rip off Mario Kart but came up short on one way or another. CTR took it to another level.

I may just fire up my Vita today and take it for a spin.

Yep they sure did.

The other thing people forget about the two is that Nintendo aim Mario Kart at a wider audience, that is why you will get the core gamer  who swear black and blue that Diddy Kong is better than Mario Kart.

On a personal level by myself I do prefer the harder challenge and being rewarded for being better.

However with Mario Kart, I can play it with anyone. I think Mario Kart 8 has come a long way and is probably balanced enough as half the time I need to slowdown to let someone I know (like my wife or friend) win lol.

I know people hate the blue shell, but tbh playing with casuals even if hit they never even a threat of taking the lead away. Also there a ways to now avoid the blue shell, so the skilled drivers will perfect their methods of doing so. Effectively in a sense a skilled driver is rewarded as they do not get hit by it.

Would I want to see a story mode in Mario Kart? I don't know. It was cool in Diddy Kong and Crash. Maybe if it didn't force people to play it and they could do the arcade mode that we all used to of just doing the cups.  A cannonball run style of a story would be funny where they race through the mushroom kingdom (one long race with stops and traps along the way)

If we're talking MK64, an argument for which is better can be made, but Mario Kart in general? I'm not so sure about that. The series has changed since then. Heck Double Dash and later games are almost different beasts altogether. I don't mean to say the game feels dated, but this kinda feels like if MK64 was being compared to MK8.

Wow. Are you implying MK8 is better than MK64?

Haha yeah, a bit bold of me to say, I know ;)

MK64 and Super Mario Kart are much better games. SMK created the genre and was one of the best games of the generation. MK64 elevated it to another level. MK8 is really incrementalism.
