Forums - Gaming Discussion - Fight Night Champion is surprisingly a very active online game.

How has there not been a current gen fight night is beyond me. Are they just too lazy?

Its probably combination of problems. Getting boxing licenses might be a pain, FNC probably had modest sales, they were focused on UFC games since they acquired the license, etc.

But like I said before, the UFC engine would actually be fine for a new Fight Night. So I dont think its just an issue of being lazy.

So Im one those jerks that buys new hardware to play old games and I've been playing a lot of Fight Night Champion.

I was genuinely surprised to see over 1300 were online playing this game. Thats more people Ive seen playing Halo or CoD games on 360 recently.

So I'm just pointing out two things. We need a new Fight Night and old games are great.

There's currently a free trial on Xbox for Gold members.

Fight night Champion to me was as close to perfection as boxing games got it is unfortunate we never had a sequel or even a remaster. I think the licensing issues, they have to go and seek out each individual boxer or their legal representative is the big hurdle perhaps they feel it is too much work to get a sizeable roster and sales won't be as big as they should be for that type of effort

I think ufc 3 had mediocre sales so it's probably a good time to mix it up.

Edit: at least there's a boxing game for psvr.

Boxing games will make a resurgence next gen when PlayStation and Xbox are both offering VR. The two are a perfect combo. Easy for anyone to pick up and play, with all the depth that the real deal offers for the competitive folks. Creed Rise To Glory is already a great expereince, but next gen will take it to the next level.

Even without a huge roster of real fighters, Fight Night VR would do incredible. I'm thinking NBA 2K online where everyone is using a created player, but Boxing instead of Basketball. A huge open gym, with multiple rings, you can que up for the next fight, while you watch the match in progess. That would go over huge.
