Dark Mode Now Available

Forums - Website Topics - Dark Mode Now Available

There's a new setting under the User Preferences (right at the top) to Enable Dark Mode. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ALL EXPERIMENTAL!!!

I'm POSITIVE users will find areas where dark text is being output on dark backgrounds, or white text output on white backgrounds - it's just something we're going to have to sort through as we go along. I've had to manage five different .css files (sometimes all five being referenced on the same page!!) in order to implement, so to say there is some spaghetti involved would be a dramatic understatement!

In the meantime - feedback, suggestions, constructive comments are ALWAYS welcome...

Definitely switching right away and will provide any feedback as necessary. Thanks Talon!

You got that 'https" in your URL by chance???

Nicely done Talon! Speaking of troubles with css. I highly recommend .less as it is more dynamic. You can nest css and use variables and mixins.

As for suggestions, unrelated to the dark mode. I would very much like a aspect ratio option when uploading images. Right now I kind of have to do it myself and guess when adjusting the sizes of images that I uploaded.

I implemented some EXCELLENT tools in the GameDB - in particular, the Banner Uploader allows you to resize and crop before submitting...    ...someday, those tools will be ported around the website. :(

So far, so good. I'm digging how it looks. The white borders kinda ruin it, but maybe darkening the borders could solve it.

Loving it! Awesome work! Will definitely use it from now on.

As far as dark text, I did a quick search and the only one I could find is the "Quick Reply (...)"

Yeah - I'm still tweaking those things. I'm certainly open to specific color suggestions...   :)
