Interesting generalization coming from someone with a Kratos avatar. You're talking about two amazing games, literally the two best games released this year by pretty much every metric. Maybe people just enjoyed Red Dead more?

How in the world is RDR2 a game for people "not into games that much" lol. It's one of the most video gamey video games I've ever played. Everything has levels and progress bars and their own systems to manage.

Dont let the avatar fool you, cause your avatar is saying you into superhero gay porn???

Which would make it weird if I were in a thread saying something’s wrong with you if don’t like watching comic book characters make out.

So glad the nominees in this awards were so good.

This however. LMAO.

The Esports furry fox guy sure did play out all of his victimcards ,he is a young dude so lets hope he gets a bit more wisdom later on in life.

You just won "Salt of the year" award with that coment, bro. God job, well deserved, well desreved 😂😂😂

Uh huh, just because I find the slow paced story driven game kinda boring.

Frankly, maybe it did deserve it. I need to look at the full list of what released in 2019. I rather play RDR or Odyssey, but thats my personal taste.

Lmao this is funny because RDR2 is a far slower paced, story driven game. I've completed god of war on the new game plus and it's gameplay is on a completely different level.

As good as red dead is a lot of people are over 10 hours in and wondering when it picks up. Most say chapter 3 but that's a long way in.

@OP I celebrated like a maniac when this won. So well deserved. Delighted to see my game of the gen win. I must have great taste!

Did you really only play a few hours of GoW? If yes, you should play more. It opens more and more, and gets less story driven the more you progress. Well, it's still story driven, but you can explore and fight for hours before going back to the story, and the story itself is way faster after a while.

You also have different kinds of trials focused only on gameplay, and it's just a joy to play it.

I didn't play RDR2 yet, but I've read several reviews complaining about it being a documentary, with hours doing nothing, and very slow and outdated/awkward gameplay. From what I've seen, RDR2 wins on the world offered and cinematic feel, GoW wins easily on the gameplay part.

Lol this is why some "opinions" makes no sense you say you don't like slow paced, story driven games, when that's exactly what RDR2 is.Hell the game takes at least 2 hours to even get going.I think you prefer those games because they're not Sony exclusives but that just my "opinion"

You always are hating on playstation exclusives sinces you joined this site like a decade ago yet they still find ways to win GOTY or get nominated for it almost every year hmmm interesting, feel free to start an award show where millions worldwide tune in and vote then get important video game people to decide which games are the best each year so someone online calls your choices boring or not great...

I'm always open to Sony games, they do exceptional story telling, I just find their games kinda boring. Honestly, the most fun I had with a Sony game this gen is Infamous SS. That's clearly relfective of my personal taste and enjoying big action.

God of War is more like walking down corridors and hearing "boy." I just dont get it. Uncharted 4 also sccaled back the action and was a slog. Meanwhile the action focused Uncharted side game was very enjoyable to me.

Not that long ago I replayed the GoW trilogy, that more my personal taste.

You think Im underwhelmed by Sony games because I hate Sony or something. I say thats a stupid thing to assume.

Mr Puggsly, not for nothing, but it sounds like you DID NOT play GoW.  It souds to me like you watched  some videos or just played the first 2 hrs of the game, and you r using that to form your "opinion".... Just FYI, GoW is a "semi-open world" game.

There is nothing wrong with not liking the game...  no game is meant to b liked by everyone...  but just dont make such statemrnts (at bolded), and make thm sound as facts whn they are clearly not true at all.

I do love the slow paced gameplay but its understandable it can be a personal negative, the game as a whole is innovating for the genre and it's for a big part next level and a build up from games like The witcher 3 that also did the open world nicely in my opinion and the only thing about this game that annoys me is how the clumsiness of animation from the main character can get into the way of needingly fast reaction when doing missions .I heard some complains about the length of the game that i do find a noncomplaint myself, as for me its a lengthy enjoyment and if i need i will just take a break and play other games in between.

I also would have liked more options to spend money and change the world around you with money like lets say investing it in property and/or remaining militia.

So yeah overall i really really enjoy this game and it does deserve a lot of praise for the things that make it shine.
