I've never owned a sega console, they were out of the business by the time I was 5. So Xbox. It's hard to compare the two when they didn't share generations either.

Dreamcast was the same generation as the original Xbox.

Yeah....but Dreamcast also came out like 2 years before the Xbox did (3 years in Japan). So naturally Xbox would be a better console overall. Although I actually loved the Dreamcast.
I know you were just answering the question.

I think I’ll go with Xbox. I really love mega drive but actually it is the only Sega console I’ve ever played. And Xbox is way bigger console hardware brand than Sega ever was.
Sega. At least they had a basic understanding of console business and were dedicated towards what really matters.
Hunting Season is done...
Sega published Alpha Protocol, I forever honor them for that
Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.
Phil Spencer is good for the industry now, and I believe he will be even more important in the future. I say this as a Nintendo fan first, a PC fan second, and everything else a distant third. I'd go with Xbox. Also, they have a lot more games if be interested in.
Purely hardware and services, Xbox easily.
Software, easily Sega.

In the broadest of senses only. The Dreamcast was officially discontinued (March 31, 2001) 7 1/2 months before the original Xbox even launched (November 15, 2001).
