Forums - Nintendo Discussion - When do you expect first "PRICE CUT" for Switch?

bananaking21 said:
Before holiday 2019 kicks in, a 50$ price cut. Then another one to 200$ by the time the PS5 and XBnext gen release to be half their price.

That's a good strategy. But, I doubt the latter will happen since PS5 and the next Xbox will likely launch in 2020 and I find it very hard to see Nintendo cutting the price again just one year after they already did. However, I think a hardware revision or a different bundle like a Switch Lite or a dockless Switch would easily sell for that price, if not less, putting it comfortably within the handheld price range.

Man we have it good now days when we expect a $300 console to drop to $250. Inflation should mean prices are going up generation over generation, yet we are expecting them to be cheaper?

My guess is next fall. Just a $50 cut, which is all it will need.

Not until the first half of 2020, unless sales really falls(Which they won't)

With the possible Trump tariffs on electronics manufactured in China, doubt we'll see one amy time soon.

Once sales starts slowing down or the New Switch DX with Funky Mode comes out.

I'll say around Summer 2019 it will be dropped to $250
