If he is wrong all the time like people said, he has the right to be wrong.

Exactly, people need to stop getting upset by predictions. They will be proven right or wrong (In this case definitely wrong) with time so there's no need for a hate mob. Stop being so emotionally invested. If you get upset that someone predicts your favourite console will do badly, maybe you're also at fault. Tell the person why you disagree with their prediction, and then wait for the outcome to see who will be proven right. There's zero need for it to get personal over numbers. Making bad predictions is not a crime, and it isn't a reason to be hated.

OT: I'm glad Super Mario Party is doing well, it deserves it. First good one in a long time, finally Nintendo stopped being stubborn and got rid of the car. Also it feels a lot longer than 12 months since Ultra Moon & Sun came out.

are you in the camp that NIntendo 8.2 million pr statement was a error?

I'm not in either camp because I can't be bothered to read.

well if you missed it, nintendo announced LTD in the US 8.2 million after cyber monday that equals to switch still being flat, when you factor in this year included cyber monday, the main argument was that nintendo low balled the number or it was a error.

I'm more than content to wait till NPD numbers come out rather than trying to decide whether PR is wrong, or 8.2m+ means 8.29m or whatever else people have been arguing.

This day makes it worth considering that I create another account on this website whose purpose is to provide counter-arguments or a different perspective to what Rol says. It would make things much more pleasant. I'd have benefits such as:

1. Mutual respect.
2. Intellectual honesty on both sides.
3. Simple requests and questions would be answered instead of a dance around some of the most basic things.
4. Finding the truth would be more important than which side wins an argument.

Now regarding this specific case, I never said that it's a sure thing that the 8.2m LTD figure is wrong, just that it's likely that it is. Multiple requests for a comprehensive breakdown of the other side didn't net any tangible results, so basically the only choice was that I had to do the work myself to see how all the pieces of the press release come together.

As for the question which side is winning, I'd hope it's the truth and sincere interest in it that is winning. If the 8.2m LTD figure is indeed correct, then I wouldn't count fatslob and quickrick as winners, simply because they always side against Nintendo. They are like the Miami Dolphins fan we've had in the NFL prediction league who had a much better track record than everyone else at predicting a loss for the New England Patriots who rarely lost games and were commonly expected to win virtually every game. But nobody in the prediction league gave credit to said Miami Dolphins fan, because he predicted the Patriots to lose in every week they played. He occasionally got lucky and was right, but that had nothing to do with a knowledge or analysis; it was all based on bias and wishing the worst for the New England Patriots.

Oh please I got so much wins, and all bets won so far. Just a typical hater.

You tell em Rich! Don't let these haters get to you! You doin' God's work out here.

Are you really trying to start an argument with the guy that just defended you?

I wasn't referring to this thread in particular.

I dont know what the 8.2 million has to do with anything. Where does the 7.38 million at the end of October number come from? There is absolutely no way Switch only sold 800k in November in the USA. Its atleast a million for November and for Black Friday to Cyber Monday it has to be 600k-850k based on the other information.

1) best selling week for Switch in the USA- previous record opening week between 500-600k.
2) best Black Friday to Cyber Monday for a Nintendo system- previous record 800k for Wii.
3) we know Switch sales arent flat they are up 115% from last year’s Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

The theory that Nintendo is comparing the exact same dates and not Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday doesnt hold water nor make sense.
