I have it sitting on my Scorpio HDD. I’ve played a few missions in Halo 1, looks and performs great. I plan on waiting for an extended time off from other games to plow through all five campaigns, I’ve only finished 1 and 2.

I have heard Reach is amazing too.

You know what MS should do, is release an MCC port for their next Xbox console, but this time do an Anniversary edition for Halo 3 and include it as well, alongside simple remasters of Halo Reach and Halo 5. All main Halo games in one package. That way all of this work they have done fixing MCC over the last year or so doesn't go to waste, because as it stands most people have moved on and won't even get it a chance sadly.

I was hoping we would get a Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 remaster at this point.

Its very likely the next Xbox console is going to support X1 software perhaps natively. So they could improve Halo 3 and add Halo Reach now. As for Halo 5, that could be patched for increased visuals settings on the new hardware.

There is a sentiment that people have moved on from Halo:MCC, but that's not entirely true because its an active game. Still one of the more popular games in the X1 library.

People have gripes with Reach for story reasons, but from a gameplay perspective it has arguably the best campaign. Good pacing, notable 7th gen graphics, it ranks high for me.

Yeah, they could just release Halo 3 Anniversary as like a $20-30 DLC for MCC and a simple remaster of Reach as like a $10 DLC, would definitely get alot more people playing MCC again. They definitely need to do something because right now they've spent a year fixing it only for it to reach #28 on XB1's most played list, #28 is not that great considering something like 5m people own MCC, plus it's on Gamepass. 343 needs to do something to bring people back in, most of the casuals probably don't even know that they fixed it. A Halo 3 Anniversary DLC would be perfect for bringing people back in.

I would gladly play pay $30 for Reach and Halo 3 Anniversary. They could make a physical re-release of MCC that has everything for $40 and make that a console bundle.

But again, there is only so much they can realistically do to make MCC popular. The most popular games are more recent, constantly updated, or some sort of building community game.

If MCC want to be really popular it needs new content. Maybe add modes with 100 players if possible. Otherwise, there aint much else that will get more people excited about MCC. I'm just content its fixed, still fairly popular and I can easily play any Halo online.

Especially Halo 3 as it needs it more.

New matchmaking system is great. Finally I can choose to play only KotH and players are found quickly. Man if the game only had launched like this.

Yep, I like playing modes I'm unlikely to find in a playlist as well.

Really hoping they do the same for Halo 5.

I've been playing a lot of MCC in recent months thanks to all the patch work that has essentially fixed all the major issues. At this point, it has become just about everything I wanted.

There are still a few tweaks I wouldn't mind in the UI, maybe options to improve split screen performance (especially on the X1X), but outside of that its just about a perfect game. The greatest compilation ever created! Five notable campaigns, five unique multiplayer experiences, split screen everywhere!

They even got rid of the social playlists and allowed you to do a search for the exact games and modes you want to play. Its just the best way to experience 360 era Halo games whether it be for the campaigns or multiplayer. It the perfect game that may never leave my console.

In its current state, I dare say it can single handedly justify a X1 purchase. Its beautiful man, beautiful!

ive no xbox one anymore but miss MCC lots. its a complete game 10/10 even more so that now you can download individual game modules. that halo 3 menu music is extremely nostalgic for me, PS360 era was the best and MCC is the best collection remake you can buy

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Hmm i personal believe Reach needs it more. That's a game that runs at sub par frame rates and resolutions all around,  while Halo 3 is older, its balance was alot better. Reach pushed the 360 past its limitations. Playing that at 60fps with 1080+ resolutions would be insane.

Halo 3 has also had a good polish in Halo MCC as well.

Reach backwards compatibility fixes the frame-rate issues for the most part... And actually runs at a higher resolution than Halo 3 did. (1152x720 vs 1152×640 vs 1920x1080/3840x2160 for MCC)

Higher resolutions is always nice I guess... Reach just doesn't utilize the Xbox 360's hardware as efficiently as Halo 4.

I just feel Reach has the better assets overall than Halo 3, so I feel halo 3, regardless of resolution the game operate at, needs it more.
