I went back as far as September the 15th, and XB1 outsold NS for 1-2 weeks.

Again, Switch had Pokémon. XB1, didn't have anything special or at all.

Yeah that's not really what the weekly reports from gamesindustry tells us but if you wanna go with the guesstimates by vgchartz where the two were basically interchangeable for all those weeks, and if you think a 170£ Forzabundle is nothing special, then we're done here.

I wasn't aware of such reports.

Still, even if use those, it doesn't really justify XB1 being second.
XB1 might have been cheaper and having a game like Forza, bundled, but Switch is also a very appealing product - if not more - and it had on it's side one of the most valuable IPs. Not to mention the fact that Let's Go is very appealing to mobile and handheld gamers alike.

The fact that XB1 is on the market for 5 years, doesn't help Switch's case.

Yes the Switch is a very appealing product, but it's also much more expensive (during a holiday period when deals matters more than usual), in a less prominent Nintendo market. The Switch being so close to both Xbox and PS4 despite it's much higher price is very good in the UK.

Look beyond placing and look at the wording instead, it's narrowly worse than the Xbox which in its turn is only narrowly worse than PS4. It's good sales for the Switch, being #3, #2 or #1 matters not.

Great for the Switch in that Sony dominated market, didn't expect that

Would like detailed figures from UK and USA :)

I didn't expect different though.
WW PS4 wiill probably have a nice lead as well.

... Black Friday is a thing in the UK?

It's a thing pretty much everywhere in the western world now. Even here in Finland. Was looking to upgrade my PS4 to the Pro if I could get it for 350€, but I missed out because only one shop had that price and they were sold out so fast..

I can wait a little longer.

"According to retailers talking to Gamesindustry.biz, more than 300,000 consoles were sold over Black Friday. It was pretty close between all three formats, but we understand that PS4 was the best-selling machine, narrowly ahead of Xbox One, which was narrowly ahead of Nintendo Switch."

Does the 'more than 300k' include 3DS?

Sounds like Nintendo is back to selling more consoles than Sony in the UK and Switch is up bigly over last BF.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

probably does but 3DS is not that relevant anymore so it wouldn't have much impact on the totals

PS4 is boring, always winning everything.
