Monolith Soft? As in the Xenoblade developers?

That would never happen. Unless you mean Monolith Productions who made the Middle-Earth action series.

If Platinum also means "Platinum Games" than nah, thanks, I'd like to keep Bayonetta 3 going.

Do you know where xeno games used to be before nintendo? Ever hear of XENOSAGA

Platinum can make bayonetta 3 as the final game its already being developed then be bought by sony for exclusive titles

Yes, I have heard of it. Better question. Have you ever heard of Nintendo owns Monolith Soft

This is what I have to say to this thread:

"The competition looks pale in comparison"

Yeah, but no. Microsoft released a better Forza game that GT will ever be, and I don't even mention Nintendo which is killing it since last year with its exclusives, which are better rated for most of them, and sell very well.

So? The thread title doesn't say what independent developer should sony buy.

Its my list i chose the ones i like, whats the issue here?

It honestly sounds like you just didn't know Nintendo owned Monolith Soft and now are trying to back out of it.

The thread's topic is which developer should Sony acquire, which I assume has to have some relative reasonableness and logical sense in real world terms, since it's asking which developers should Sony literally acquire.

Of course, if that's what you would want Sony to acquire that's fine ... doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but go ahead.

Yeah no

I have Xenoblade 2 on switch i like xenosaga on PS2 im very aware of monolith softs nintendo connection

That doesn't change the fact i said i wished sony aquired them never did i say i predict Sony will buy monolith soft off nintendo

Seems you misread or misinterpreted my post, no harm done

After E3, Microsoft received plenty of criticism for acquiring developers that at one point made multiplatform games. It's only fair that Sony gets the same amount of scrutiny. All five developers in the poll have released successful multiplatform games at one point or another.

Platinum seems to be content working under Nintendo right now (and they said they want to be more dependent..). I don't see Insomniac happening either because they want to own their own IP (hence why SO was on XB1). It also wouldn't surprise me if Sony made an offer at some point and got turned down. To seriously answer the question, Quantic Dream would be a wise acquisition right now.  I would say Supermassive Games if they weren't working with Bandai Namco right now.

On another note, as far as exclusive output this gen, even with them underutilising their studios, sony has still managed an exclusive output of around 3-4 exclusives every single year. No other company can make that claim. And their exclusives are all doing very very well.

Except Nintendo ...

Also, if we're talking about games from studios Sony specifically owns, you don't get to include titles like Spider-Man, as Sony themselves don't even include it when addressing their worldwide studios. So I'm not sure why you changed the criteria mid-argument.

When did i ever say we are talking specifically about games sony made and owns. We are talking about exclusives. And the bottom line is that when it comes to that not every game that is released is made by the publisher..... but they will publish it and that will usually mean it won't be on another platform. The very same way bayonetta is not made by nintendo but published by them.

It doesn't change the fact that sony has a lot of very well selling exclusives. And they do a lot to make that happen. And they are fine as far as that is concerned.

Don't really see the need for Sony to acquire anyone

Wait, if Sony buys Platinum that means Bayonetta won't be in Super Smash 6 on the 2witch?

Quantic Dream and Insomniac Games.
