Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games you would give Legendary Status to!

Simple thread really, I want to know what games ( or even series) you would say are your epitome of gaming. Games that literally EVERY single gamer should give a try just to say they experienced it.

My list (which may be updated) as games or series everyone should play in their lives are:

1: Xeno series, all of them. IMO Takahashi knows EXACTLY how to mix fantasy and sci-fi with creative story telling that elevates his works to the absolute best of the best.

2: Suikoden series, all of them again. Build an army, fight one on one, six man squad, or entire army battles all in one game and all work exceptionally well. Great fantasy jrpgs that deal more along the lines of a type of "Game of Thrones" type of battle for kingdoms, lands, ect. nail biting action nearly from beginning to end.

3: Fatal Frame series. This series is Japanese horror through and through. If you like Japanese type horror, you'll love this series.

4: Silent Hill first three games. The best of the best of the series that is every bit as genius as Monolith Soft's Xeno series but in the horror genre. Every other game beyond that kind of becomes a lesser entity of narrative, or creativity but the first 3 are masterpieces.

*will add more going to work, but a short starter*

Breath of the Wild and Persona 5 have earned legendary status fairly quickly in my eyes. Super Mario Galaxy, Kingdom hearts 2, and Pokemon White 2 are also pretty legendary

Ocarina Of Time
God Of War III
God Of War (2018)
The Witcher 3
Dark Cloud 2

Is it obvious that I have a type? lol

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

1. Civilization. Or colonization. Probably any part of the series, although some are better than others. The classic turn-based grand strategy game.

2. Starcraft. Not the abomination that is Starcraft 2, but the original Starcraft. This is real-time-strategy at it's best.

3. The Secret of Monkey Island. LucasArts were the masters of Point-and-click-adventures, and this one is the most acknowledged of their work.

4. Baldur's Gate. This is the game, which brought the isometric pause-based RPGs with vast regions. And it is really good.

5. Doom and Doom II. The originals from back then (although the reboot is also good). These two games made FPS wildly popular. The engine is open-source and was ported now to each platform and has added features. Doesn't matter if you get the original or one of the spin-off engines like boom, prboom, gldoom, doomsday, zdoom or how these all are called.

6. Resident Evil. The original game. Not remade, but with original tank controls. This is a classic.

7. Duke Nukem 3D. You need to taste the Duke and all his banter and alien squishing power.

8. One of the Gold Box RPGs, like Pool of Radiance or Dragonlance. Good old classic RPG-goodness.

9. UFO: Enemy unknown. The great tactical game with destructible environments. It was revolutionary for it's times and still holds up well.

10. nethack or one of it's derivates. This is the classic roguelike (OK, I guess you could play also rogue itself). Ported to almost anything and costs nothing it is easy ot get and really hard to master. You should try at least once - or at least as long until you figure out to survive long enough to get some dungeon levels deep.

OK, I think ten is a good number for now, so I stop.

Breath of the Wild is so far beyond anything else that I can't give any other game the legendary status.

I guess Ocarina of Time 3D.

I will consider anything legendary if you slap Britney on it! =D

Other than that I'd say the following:

Mega Man X
Goldeneye
Half-Life
Final Fantasy VII
Metal Gear Solid
Super Mario Bros.
Tomb Raider
Doom
Civilization 2
Broken Sword

I could go on here. There are too many to count them all.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Shadow of the Colossus
Red Dead Redemption 2
Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
God of War (2018)

These are also my top 5 (or top 10) games. Pure magic!
