I always said that Let's go would be very successful and even got pretty angry answers saying that "Pokémon spin off don't sell, no-one asked for that"... 

Personally, i went with a Switch before PSVR.  PSVR is going to be so much more there next gen so I'm waiting for that.

I've gotten through half of it. It isn't a spin-off, but rather a remake that has improved and modernized (in a good way) the original game in so many ways. I have a massive list already of changes I've noticed. The game is far and away a better experience than I expected and I'm addicted!

From what I've heard this is lower than most mainline Pokemon games first week, but in line with remakes/version 3s, and ahead of spinoffs. So it's still fantastic, especially given the install base. Already well over 10% of Switch owners. No reason to think next year's game won't do even better. While the next game might cut off Let's Go's legs prematurely, it's going to sell like crazy for a full year before then and I can easily see it becoming the Switch's highest selling game before that happens.

Any disappointment I might have had with Let's Go was completely mitigated by the news that a true mainline sequel is coming out next year. Knowing that I can really enjoy roaming around Kanto in HD.

So, 660.000 copies of PLG in Japan and 3.000.000 WW FW. We have 200.000 Switch-sales in Japan. Does that mean 1.000.000 Switch-sales WW in PLGs FW?

Pokémon Let's Go was in serious contention for the top spot, but now we know that Let's Go succeeded in all four categories:

1. Critical reception.
2. Fan reception.
3. Software sales.
4. Ability to move hardware.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but seriously what were people thinking about labeling pokemon go as the top disappointment.

I was one of them.... I assumed it would be a dissapointment in terms of review scores & fan reception (ei. core pokemon users wouldnt enjoy the dumbed down systems). Always assumed that its sales would be fine, just not as beloved as other pokemon games.
