2020: Lets Go Series

Let's go shouldn't have new games before a gen 4 remake

All remakes going forward might be part of the let's go series.

I think if Gamefreak actually went of a more ambitious route for new gens we dont need third versions no more and the scehdule would fit in so much better. If they went all out lets say for Gen 8 and then gen 9 i can easily see something like this...

2018: Lets Go (Gen 1)
2019 New Gen (Gen 8)
2020: Remakes (Gen 4 with Gen 8 Compatible)
2021: Lets Go Johto (Gen 2)
2022: New Gen (Gen 9)
2023: Third Version (Gen 9)
2024: Off

They know better than that...I hope. If so, we would have to wait longer for gen 5 remakes, and that would be sad

This schedule would mean that we would have a new pokemon game 8 years in a row. That would be crazy

This franchise is basically immortal

I just don't see them doing a Let's Go that is in a new region, and if they do continue making traditional remakes at the same time then the majority of their releases would be remakes. If they do intend to continue Let's go as a fairly regular series I see it as much more likely that they will continue them as remakes, and release them between their new games. Rather than running 3 series all at once (Pokemon Main, Pokemon Remake, Pokemon Let's Go)

I don't see them releasing two remakes in a row ever. The alternative would be scale back both series, and alternate between remake/lets go. So:

New Pokemon Game, Remake, New Pokemon Game, Let's Go, New Pokemon Game, Remake... and so on.

So 50% New, 25% Remake, 25% Let's Go, rather than 33% New, 33% Remake, 33% Let's Go. Which would mean 66% of their releases would be rehashing the old.

Except it literally isn't.

Let's Go is a remake of Yellow with a campaign, a proper game world, proper trainer battles, it's more in line with past remakes like Heart Gold/Soul Silver than it is with Go.

In Pokemon Yellow, a game I played to no end, as in every singlw other mainline of mainline remake, you could, you know, battle fucking wild pokemon.

The fact you had to single out "proper trainer batlles" is pretty telling on what this game is, it is find a pokemon and throw a ball on it, Pokemon Go.

I've played way too much Pokemon, which has been my favorite Nintendo franchise ever since I touched a gameboy (though Zelda might be better nowdays) to be told to accept this shit as it is.

In fact Pokemon has been, after Sonic, the only games that had always topped my favorite list, before I crossed ways with LoD.

Well, many here actually agree with you, that Let's Go is not so much for them and they are waiting for the core RPG next year. But your criticism is in big parts hyperbole and unfounded. Let's Go is not Pokemon Go. In difference to that it has a proper story, a proper world, proper battles. Only one single thing is borrowed from Go: catching Pokemon.

And quite frankly, I'm surprised how well all that works. After the trailers I was already in the boat, that visible Pokemon in the overworld instead of random battles, partner Pokemons running with you and terrain moves being taught outside of the normal fighting moves and therefore be available without a slave-pokemon are all enhancements which are great and should be come to the core game too. Now playing it - the catching mechanic isn't that bad. As someone in the threaad already said - going around and catching Pokemon is much more fun now. I'm not sure if I want to do away with battling wild pokemon in the core game, but maybe you can choose to catch or fight.

My biggest criticism to Let's Go currently is, that catching is only available through motion control, they should make it available in classic controls and with a classic controller too.

Not sure if I want that.

That is better. I agree remakes should be around 50% of the games. I would go with: new core Pokemon, Let's Go remake, third game (yellow) or second set of two games (Black&White 2) in the same gen, remake with core mechanics. Overall I feel a bit fatigued of so many Pokemon, so I will probably leave out one or another from time to time.
