It will this year. Next year maybe not.

If PS4 manage it next year it will be crazy, even with a good price cut it's fucking year 6 against a year 2 to 3 (where Switch should be peaking).

Very little ""detail"" that many  tend to forget...PS4 being out since 2013, and still dominating...VS a new console which is even 2 consoles in one, Home + Portable ;)  and we all know how much this is helping Switch.       PS4 is a Beast.

Very little detail you seem to forget, there are 2 PS4 models on the market which help sales to be high, unlike the Switch and its unique model

PS4 is a true beast, it is quite impressive to still hold fine so late and without pricecuts.

And even after all questioning it still manages to keep ahead aligned against PS2 (I don't think it will outsell it, but so far it been doing great).

PS4Pro sells about 1/5 of total sales and very likely without it sales of PS4 wouldn't be much impacted as most would just purchase vanila (100USD difference and all... just look if X1X have dented PS4/Pro sales even being stronger than both).

I disagree. Indeed, 1/5 sales are Pro sales. And a good amount of people who bought the Pro already owned a PS4 so there is an impact.

And don't compare to the X, nobody expected the X to reach PS4 Pro sales, 500$ is still way to expensive to compete with PS4 Pro.

It's trifling compared to the fact Switch is a new console and Nintendo is selling an Home console together with a portable.

The situation for Sony would be roughly the same without PS4 PRO, you really made a very bad and weak "conjunction" between the two situation.

Most of Playstation users who bought a PS4 PRO, whould have bought a standard PS4 if PRO was not available. While many many Nintendo users bought a Switch because is a Portable too,

it is a completely different thing; and together with the fact Switch is a new console compared to a 5 years old PS4, you can do the math for yourself and understand why PS4 is the beast ;)

More simple math: 2 > 1

I agree, no point in making the comparison with the PRO Model, 'cause we are talking about much more significant factors then a mid gen upgrade.  And XBox One X

is the most striking proof ;) The weekly Gap with PS4 and Switch is increasing, not decreasing ;)

Just compare launch aligned and be done with it lol

Here's an idea, let's stop making dumb comparisons and observations.
